Where did you get the carpet you put in? If you mentioned I didnt see, was gonna order mine from LMC, it will be awile. Just want to see if LMC's carpet is any good. Have used them for plenty before so I have no reason to dout them. When your trottle sticks, do you still have pedal or is the pedal bottomed out?

The pedal bottoms out I believe... And high, I think about it now and see what you mean. I didn't realize until now that it didn't cut out at the higher rpms. Might be getting lucky.

I ordered the carpet from www.classicparts.com and it came with the jute backing and fit pretty good without having to lay it in the sun.

No, the throttle doesn't have to bottom out when it hangs. It will do it sometimes at 3/4.

Especially the worst of us... Try to take out the fuel vent cannister to check if it's working properly and break the condenser. I looked like the hulk after that piece broke off. P*ssed, tearing my shirt off, and solid green .

Did that charcoal inside the canister look good because it cost you about 300.00 to look at it?

Yeah they are pretty much worthless unless you're an enviromental advocate.

However, everything under the hood of that car was still factory until I gave it to jr. Now he is going to change it all!

My fuel pump is trying to kick the bucket now. It's shooting gas all over the engine mount. It's making the gas fumes inside the cab alot worse!

JohnC 05-27-2009 09:27 AM

Re: And so it begins................

That's the important part to fix is the fumes inside the cab! Don't wanna have to smell that going down the road.

Mine was factory when I got it but the air pump sounded like a spun bearing/rod knock all of a sudden and had me scared chiteless for the life of the motor. Took it off and everything's peachy. Then the egr became a vacuum leak a few days after I disconnected it. So I just as well finish it off with the charcoal canister. Plus the flap in the snorkel of the air cleaner froze shut, so basically it all sucks

:haha: man that sounds all too familiar! Everything always worked so flippin good on that Satellite though that I hated to touch any of it. However, it's time to jerk it out now. A cool can would work great in the place of that charcoal canister. :metal:

It took a couple hours and a couple flashlights but I finally got it. The big blocks don't leave much room to navigate!

And John, I put those rallys you sold me on the old mans truck today. They look alot "beefier" than the factory rallys. This first pic is his old wheels.

Did that lug wrench out of the Satellite do the trick for the spare key? I figured it would work, but did you find his old one? And yeah it does look a lot beefier. I need that same size in Mickey Thompson Bajas on my truck ;).

highperf4x4 05-28-2009 01:29 AM

Re: And so it begins................

He decided not to pull the spare yet. He can mount the 5th rim later.

They look sweet man! That custom paint job on those wheels really go well with the truck! Now I need to paint the ones that are on my truck now the way I did those.
