I know that you are putting the body on the newer frame but Im wondering if the newer frame is going to be skinny enough to fit under the truck? In other words are you going to have to shorten the rearend and bring in the front wheels to fit inside the fender? I hope that makes sense.

I'm thinking you mean narrow the rear and front....

if you mean the stance of one out side wheel to another being too wide it really isnt that far off.the suspension on newer style truck is alot wider then the older style but on the newer style they use a wheel that sits in more compared to the older style wheel that has a deeper lip and sits out further.if you go back a few pages to where the 01 sierra donor truck is all together you can see i had the wheels off of the 67 on it and they kicked out a couple inches wider compared to stock wheels on a sierra.so on the 67 one center wheel to the other center is about 63.5 inches.on the newer style frame they are about 65 inches from one to the other.then with the front camber when dropped to the ground its around 63.if your confused or i didnt answer your question please let me know.

Nice, looks awesome on that camaro. Get your tank in? Or any other progress?

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i didnt get the gas tank mounted yet.i have to trip a couple of the brackets that hold the straps in place and then it will be ready to go.but i did get a bunch of small stuff done.brake lines flared and hooked up to the abs unit, removed some stuff from the motor and degrease d it,got the rear suspension in place and u bolts installed, finished welding a bunch of small stuff under the cab, seam sealed around every seam and square tubing under the cab, made and welded new mounting brackets on the seats, made and welded seat mount studs and gussets under the cab.just a whole bunch of time consuming small stuff.im hoping to block the cab this weekend and get it in paint on monday.fingers crossed

that blitz black is gonna look clean!

i thought about a flat black too..but i cant justify myself doing all this work and not going bc/cc route. theres just something about a hammered stance, flat black paint, and black rims that is hard to beat.

Yeah, the small stuff always gets ya. Is your front bumper bolted to the new frame? If so it looks like it's tilted up a little. IMO. Maybe an optical illusion though.

I was curious as to if you're gonna shave the door handles? Since you shaved the driprail among other things.

(joey) 07-04-2011 04:19 PM

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i was going to but at the last second i changed my mind.reason being if you look at all the vehicles on the road now days its rare to see real chrome door handles, chrome mirrors, vents in the cowl.ect..also the reason i decided not to go with the one piece window.you just done see the good old vent windows anymore.i just dont want to blend in with newer vehicles too much

Yup, i'm with you. Just wanting to see your vision. At one point I wanted that completely shaved one peice window truck, but not anymore. I love my chrome originality. Looks like you're gonna have it all with this one.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

thanks men.my view on the chrome/vent windows/cowl ect is the same reason i went with a painted interior instead of leather wraped and fabric.
