Thank you!

I'll have to get my pictures together and see what I can do about a build thread. I've gotten a lot of good ideas and help from the ones I looked at, maybe I've got a trick or two up my sleeve that someone else could use.

Keep up the nice work!

Holy Cow, what a great build!! Can't wait to see what else you've got planned. Nice little piece of craftsmanship on that ECM mount.

Well, I got a little lazy and a little side tracked doing a little fitment work for Lokar (really neat product coming from them soon!). So not much has been done over the last couple of weeks, but I am back and ready to power through to a running engine! I was putting my column back together tonight and I thought I would spout off a bit. My issue is with crappy parts from big name vendors. I strayed from GMC Paul, not sure why, when I ordered my gear indicator parts. The first pic is parts from *cklers and the second is the replacements from GMC Paul. My question is why even sell crap like this, wasting a customers time and money? Needless to say, but I will be sticking with board venders like GMC Paul from now on.

Wow. What a piece. Any hints on the Lokar product?

A little progress... MAF sensor is temporary due to the length of the pigtail. Radiator and heater hoses done... And a pic of it on the ground in my garage, just because.

A bunch of that looks familiar under the hood, I just can't figure out why.

If you were here this weekend there would be no doubt it would be running, but I think I might still have it going by Sunday. ;)

I have no idea about the cam. This engine has kind of made the rounds over the last two years. HavinSomeFun had it first then Hart_Rod had it and now it has found its rightful place! HavinSomeFun may remember which cam it is, let's see if he pipes in...

Well, I worked on her for a few hours as she had a couple of dead cylinders. I found 3 of the eight fuel injectors where bad. I was able to get 2 at the local part store so I put those in and it improved greatly. Will pick up another tomorrow on my way home from work. Hope to have her all squared away by tomorrow night. She has an appointment at the muffler shop Wednesday morning. :)

Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

She's hitting on all 8 cylinders! Sounds really great, but I think she needs some time to learn. Headed to the exhaust shop in the morning. Going with MagnaFlow mufflers, hopefully with an x-pipe and turn-downs before the axle. The stepside bed seems to cut down on room to run the tail pipes over the axle, so it will have to do. If I can coordinate it I'm going to try and have the front end aligned too. After that it will be time to calibrate the speedo and put some miles on her. :metal:

Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

Im guessing it sounds alot different with all 8 cylinders firing, not nearly so volitile, would you please post another video once the mufflers are installed.
A burn out video would be fun dont you guys agree? :metal:
