Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Pm sent.
Tell me more about having to drill a hole in the pedal arm. I have a 1972 that came with power brakes but using a after market 8" booster |
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I replied to your PM and sent you an email.
Typically a booster pushrod connection hole is drilled 1" lower than the original hole to achieve a better pedal feel and lessen the sensitivity. The original '67-'72 power brakes had the bellcrank assembly which accomplished that. Quote:

Just as a FYI, this for sale thread is for the '67-'72 standard booster bracket. The for sale thread for the '63-'66 standard booster bracket is here.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I am looking to see if you make a bracket that will allow me to put on a brake booster on my 67 C10 with the stock all drum brake master cylinder I currently have.
Trying to take the easy route before figuring out all the disc brake and drop spindle options out there. I just want to drive the truck with out manual brakes for awhile as I determine my next upgrades. Thank you for your assistance |
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I replied to your PM from this morning.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Hi Captain. Figured this would be easier than the PMs. Can you show me a pic of the mounting plate, HB plate, and the clutch piece together? Price for all, powder coated black, shipped to MO?
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I already replied to your PM from earlier. Here again is the link to the for sale thread for the '67-'72 booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch conversion.
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=652871 And the for sale thread for the hydroboost mounting plate. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=347480 The prices are Exactly the same as in post #1 of every for sale thread. The total combined cost for one '67-'68 booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch conversion and one hydroboost mounting plate, both in satin black powder coat with shipping will be $279.40. Quote:

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Hey cap I received the bracket. Man that was fast! Thank you can’t wait to get it in. Just for clarity I need to re drill a hole in my pedal arm 1” lower correct?
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Yes you will want to drill a booster pushrod hole on the brake pedal 1" lower than the original. You can try it in both locations and see how you like each one.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Great Thank you. I test fit it and it looks like it should have come that way from the factory.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
That appears to be about a 7" dual diaphram universal aftermarket booster. With the column shify on the '67-'72's you can use up to a 9.5" diameter booster. I always suggest going with as large a diameter booster as you can fit.
