Cadillac plating did the cad plating, they have a new plating now though.
Thanks for the compliment guys. :)

Wiring for the park/turn signals looks nice and clean. That is the way I did mine that I tried to explain before.

Are you using a nylon washer under the head of the bolts? Looks like something is between the bolt head and the inner fender where they bolt to the firewall.

Very clean and detailed build!

Watch out for your hood sponges. I bought a set from LMC and a set from I think The Truck Shop and the Truck Shops were narrower, same thickness though.

Also I put my dome lamp in. Waiting on the courtesy foot-well lights to finish the wiring.

Okay I installed the hood running/turn lamps, they are LED, new housings, plug, fasteners. I clear coated the housings and plugs masked where needed of course.

Received the courtesy lights and installed them wired except for the passenger side. Going to work on the when I get a glove box that I will get when I get an air conditioning unit. Want the wiring to be nice so running it will all be together. :)

I bought a dash speaker from retro-sound I think, anyway one of the brackets didn't line up so I did some modification to the location and bracket. Lines up now. :)
I'm not big into stereos, so I will have one but the boom-boom thing isn't mine. :) People try to "school" me on what is boom-boom and what is not - I cant tell the difference.
Other than the green items you see I got from an original bracket and the rubber piece too, the rest came with the speaker.

I am with you on the Boom Boom Thing! My hearing sucks and all I need is some Music, besides I would rather hear my wife and the exhaust note when I am cruising. Thanks for the updates I really like the way your truck is taking shape.

Thanks I'm tryin.
I still want to install foam around the speaker and put some black material on it before I install it for good. So I'm going over today and look for that stuff locally.

Okay here is my plan on the front seat. Cream and Red with material, not sure which of the two materials on the right yet.

That is one sharp truck, if you were a little closer I would stop by and see it in person. Nice work

I used an American Autowire grommet for the firewall plug for the hood wires to include a ground wire to the lights, I used some push-mount wire ties in the interior of the hood wiring, they are hard to even notice. The pad isnt installed in the hood on the pic below, hard to see with so much red.

How did you get the wires to the front of the hood? Under the bolt on brace ? Mine is just wire tied and exposed, yours looks really clean.

Pretty much thats how I did it. Thank you for the kind comment, I wish you were closer too you could stop by once in a while. :)

I like the pattern on the right, but the one in the middle is a little more subdued so it might be a better choice. All I know is, you are doing a great job on the truck and no matter which material you choose, it will look outstanding. :metal:

Would you mind sharing the part numbers from SMS for those two fabrics?

Keep up the great work!

So I installed the gauge panel after finishing the wiring behind it. Have everything else ready to plug in when I get the rest.

I just read through your thread, this is gonna be one heck of a truck...

can I ask how / what you attached under the cowl as the trash screen?

The Rocknrod 05-17-2018 11:08 PM

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Thank you, I hope it will be.
I purchased a roll of 1/4" X 1/4" screen and formed it ever so carefully almost wire by wire to fit in the underside so that it would support itself. Then I read recently where one of our members here used some hot glue ensure his stayed a few years ago (still works) so I used some too. :)

Back when the local trailer guy brought my truck home from the painter - 1 year, 1 month, 1 day after I let them have it.
In your "wildest" dreams - what do you think the cost was, all new sheet-metall before the painter got it.
