The truck really looks good! Yeah, you these things move a lot of water in the cooling system for sure! Are you wanting to put a filter straight on the turbo, or do you need a pipe to get it away from the turbo and have the filter away from the engine?

Re: My 56 6bt 4X4 build.

Hey thanks . Yours is comming along nicely as well. Its nice once they start to look like trucks again ! I had a afe on order from summitt but it seems its on back order . going to call tonite and swich to a spectra that they say they have in stock. Maby order a fan at same time . cooling well now , even with a ratty old rad but i know once i find some traffic it will get hot eventually. hows the Excursion coming ? Thats my dream kiddie hauler as well.

Excursion is coming along. Ran into some issues trying to get the rear end set up. It is also missing some a/c wiring harness, and that has been a real PITA to locate. I'm trying to get the a/c lines figured out, got the trans shift cable figured out. Just have to get more time.

My 1 st prob so far. Clutch linkage started to bend where it pushes in the dodge master for the clutch. Once it tweaked a few deg the push was not straight this bent the rod where it goes into the master . I guess i know what Im up to tomorrow nite !

Mine is a factory electric motor from a 58 GMC, I think they came standard with electric motors. linkage to the wiper transmissions is the same, it bolts up the same. Make sure you get the switch assembly too, it is a cable deal that actuates a slide electrical contactor on the motor.

Before I found that I used the motor out of a 62 pickup and fabricated the mount so it would work. Also had to modify the length of the arms to the transmissions. Think I used the switch assy out of the truck too.

There are threads on adapting rear door wiper motors. Not difficult once you figure out the geometry.

It tends to get off topic at times and I like to give lots of detail. I have the pics and other information on my computer organized by sub systems so I can find them.

Had a very good wknd. I had a fabed bumber from bak in the day on the shop floor .

It was off a fleetside truck so some tweaking was required . got that done and installed. nothing trick but the truck needed a bumper and this one looks period correct. Did something else under the bak of the truck , going to post some pics and see who picks up on it . I think youll be on it it abt a second ryan ... Lol. Going to the exh shop on the wknd. Coming along nicely .

I'm ready to see those caps mounted! Where did you get those shocks? We met some folks from Canada on our Honeymoon. One was from Montreal and one was from Vancouver. I can say the Vancouver one wasn't as friendly as you have been!

So i have been joking around telling everyone I wanted to see who was on the ball and could spot the change I made to the rear of the truck after one member , oh hell ryan spotted sumtin I did wrong . So here are the pics .

This is my new rear bumper I got at Bills truck parts . Not perfect but it works well with the old work truck theme I had in mind when I started building this old girl. And i have a hitch now.

No another cool note we went to a buddys place for the long wknd and a friend brought up his toy. Real Cool . We were rippen around in the mid 80's. This thing is loose ! I have gone just under twice as fast as this thing goes . But this deffinately qualified as the loosest ride Ive been on , Period !

Re: My 56 6bt 4X4 build.

I knew it wouldent take you long to spot the shocks ! Your truck is looken sweet . That boat wasent a jet ! 30% over drive 1 gear ! no rev . Revin abt 6200 with the jackshaft between the idiots , I mean passangers and the trans rite at your feet !!!

It was a killer ride . One that I dont know if I need to do again , if you know what I mean !!!

I have been wondering about driving down to Bills Truck Shop to check it out.
What is your opinion? Is it as good as it sounds?

Bill and Rob are real cool guys to deal with . You need to keep in mind he moved in to a industrial building so there isn't much of a yard to poke around in . I think the business was at his house before . Older pics on his website show all kinds of cool stuff in the yard .

Still worth the trip if you need something tho. If you just looking to walk around I'd wate till I had a shopping list.

I bet that boat is a blast to drive! What kind of engine is that? Looks like a backwards big block Chevy?

Yep its a blast ! My ears are still ringing ! Ever sat infront of a bbc at 6000rpm with open dry headers ! Yikes . On the flip side it's funny the thing will do 55 all day at abt 3200 and just hum along . Even 55 is fast by everyday boat standards.

Hows your truck doing? Im going to p u my speedo extension from napa tomorrow . Will see how that works . I did a diy fe allignment the other day . Not perfect , I think I toed it in a bit too much , but it drives a lot better now .

You ever thought abt movin your thread over to the diesel conversion section ? Seems there is a lot more for me or us over there . Not too sure how you do or if you can do that .
