Re: 60-66's in the movies
Back to the future was mentioned earlier, but no pictures. Here are some shots to go along with the comments. A long bed fleetside in the driveway as Marty turns onto his street.

I remember now about that suburban in Back to the Future.
I missed the fleetside in the driveway. Quote:

Twin peaks TV show has what appears to be a 1962 long fleet belonging to the owner of the gas station:

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I seem to recall that one back to the future movie ended with a different year of carry all and the next one started with the same scene and it is the blue one and is supposed to be the same moment in time. Does anybody else remember seeing that?

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Found this on YouTube rbar. You see the burb first at about 0:50 on the top one, and at 0:51 on the bottom one it looks like a different burb. Then at 1:23, then shortly after. The end of the videos where the Delorean takes off, they are the same looking.
The video has both the end of #1, and the start of #2 playing simultaneously, so is a little confusing, so you may want to turn down your speakers. LOL They appear to be the same burb, but someone with a keener eye may verify something else. Quote:

Re: 60-66's in the movies
That's really really funny that you came up with that. When I was talking different year, I was thinking 67-72 when I saw it full screen. I think right at 2:00 you can see the back quarter of that burb and it is a 67-72. Seems like they showed more of it in the full video.

Lousy writers destroyed a sweet 60-66 in the movie Super 8...why is it they always have to waste the classics? :waah:

Vanishing Point – 1971

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Stumbled upon some episodes of Adam-12, and about jumped out of my chair when they pulled up in front of the Universal Courthouse Square set, which is the subject of my primary diorama. This is what the building structures looked like in 1955-1957:
http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/9906/resizedc.jpg And here’s what the same buildings looked like in 1968. The fascias had changed but most of the structures remained intact: http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/4...amaresized.jpg So then I started paying attention and noticed a bunch of 60-66 Chevy trucks in the background. Some are parked, while others are in motion. Here’s what I’ve found so far, in only the first 2 or 3 episodes: A nearly new short stepside across the street: http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/927/chevy01.jpg A 64-66 long fleetside approaching an intersection: http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/4581/chevy02.jpg In the left corner is the headlight of a 1962 pickup that passed the patrol car. The shot flipped back and forth between cameras, only showing the headlight and center of the grille, both through the back window: http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/905/chevy03.jpg Another long white fleetside, and not a very good screen shot: http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/8278/chevy04.jpg And yet another long fleetside at the curb: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/990/chevy05.jpg And finally here’s a panel truck sitting at the curb as they passed by: http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/5712/chevy06.jpg I’m hopeful to collect some better screen shots in the next few days. There should be a bunch available since at least half the show was filmed outdoors doing street scenes. |

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Not sure its been mentioned but for about 4 seconds you see a 60-66 C10 go by in the movie Dirty Harry...You see the truck go by in the background when Harry shoots a few bank robbers coming out of a bank . One of his famous lines ..... when he comes up to one of them on the floor & says....Your probably asking yourself did he use 5 or 6 shots...in all this confusion,I forgot myself...but being this is a 44 magnum the worlds most powerful hand gun& can blow your head clean off.....you gotta ask the question.....do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk!!!
