Does that engine have a functionin VVT? Will you run an auto or manual tranny?

Re: off it goes

It's a VVT motor, running a Gearstar Transmission 4L65E built to motor specs, tranny built to 600hp and 600lbs of torque.......motor dyno'd at 578 hp

Re: off it goes

WOW! That is even more power than my VVT motor. I´m running around 500 HP on my L92 with functioning VVT and full ´08 Emissions. You will love the VVT, the torque band is amazing! I love mine!

Very cool Jim, love the bumper. Shaving the bolts goes a long ways too!

Take notes bumper Tucker's, this is how it should be done. :)

Re: off it goes

Looks absolutely amazing!!!! I love it when people just make the original just look that tiny little bit better than stock, without going overboard. Will you put the bumper triagular mounts from the fram to the bumper back in??

CHROMAHOLIC 11-25-2012 08:02 AM

Re: off it goes

Thanks for the compliments, no triangular mounts....they are tucked and narrowed enough now that the vibrating will be minimal so we're running a small one to the rad support only and losing the long ugly one to the frame. Also shaved all the bolts of for a cleaner look. Not doing any off the wall stupid stuff to it....trying to build it as if GM built a slammed 77 LS powered Truck. Going to make some slight mods but to the average eye it will look stock, it will take a C-10 enthusiast to notice the subtle changes.

Re: off it goes

I´ve seen Stacey David doing that to his Copperhead C10 and it makes an unbelievable difference but still subtle enough that most people don´t realize!

Re: off it goes

That kind of effort to pull off such a small detail is what makes trucks/builds like this a notch above the rest.
