I went ahead and cut off the rear portion of the frame because it looked goofy when I notched it.

In case any one is curious, 4 out of the 8 bolt holes worked for the bed. I only have to drill 4 new holes and the bed will be totally bolted down.

was it hard to make that front end work on a 76? i want to do this to my 76. i have everything but that cowl panel behind the hood.

The fenders and rad support are cake. The hood and hinges require cutting the firewall and making holes for the 81 up hood dinges. Then you have to adapt the hinges to the firewall. You slao have to make mounts for the cowl pins to set in. I decided that was more work than I wanted to spend on this thing, so I purchased a 74 front clip for this truck. The hood is just setting on there in the pics.

Would you still sell the truck? I really liked it better with the big lift and tires.

Re: Project: B.A.D. 1976 K30 CCLB

It had about 20" of lift and the tires were 52". Some people say they are 53". I never really measured them.

He has a 4x4 welded to the bottom of the frame for the front springs to mount, and a longer shackle for the rear of the front spring and also looks like a 4 inch body lift.

You're almost right.

It had a 3" body lift, shackle flip in the rear with 8" springs and a 4" block. It had 12" springs in the front with a 4"x4" 1/4" thick tube that the spring perches are wlded to, and the front shackles were longer. I moved the shackles back in the frame to give it more lift as well. It sat 22" taller with 235's on it that a stock height K20 did with 235's on it.

I think I'm going to just do 12 inch springs and 4 inch blocks and run like 44s
