Nothing fancy, just something warm

special-K, I was re-reading your hat post.

Did you order a warm hat day, or did you order a warm hat.

I suppose in the end it's the same thing.

Why did I waste time on that?

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Yes, I ordered a hat day and that was before yesterday!! I am so tired of all this drama here on FT. I put up a simple post about a very interesting event I thought all my "friends" () would want to know about and it turns into all this!?! And not a single like or share!?! I don't buy warm hats every day I'll have you know. In fact, it's been over ten years and that was before I was on FT! Have a nice day... FRIENDS!!! :ben:

Yep, you asked for it.

My son came home for Christmas and he hasn't left the couch since. He has Norovirus. At one point he was on all fours, pushed up say 6" off the couch, not because he was chucking, he was trying to find some level of comfort. Never quite visualized that before. I bleached the place.

My mother and step-father aren't doing well.

Mom has kicked breast cancer's azz twice, the first in 97 with chemo and radiation, the second three years ago. She kicked lung cancer's azz too, in 2011, and that's with two collapsed lungs.....She's regressing some mentally and more physically. Everything is a big deal.

My step-father is a Vietnam Colonel. He's 87, and has smoked since he was seven. He still walks better than most in their 60s, but his mind is deteriorating. He continues to make for great conversation, and we're a lot alike. If you didn't know my dad you'd think he were my dad. The guy quit drinking scotch on a dime two years ago, and not so much as a beer since. My only complaint is he was hilarious under a 2-4 drink daily spell. My parents won't leave their two-story house.

After being together 36ish years, married near 32, and three kids 18 to 31 years old, I'm currently determining how we split the sheets, which I'm presenting to "my ex" (has nice ring to it) next week. Heck yeah man, I chose the 71 :chevy: over my wife.

More seriously, this is long time coming and worse by the day, but she doesn't much care for the project. The Chevy is not guilty:lol: if I say up she says down. I give the decision a thumb's up man, and I'm looking forward to it. But wholly *&%(*%(, doesn't come cheap. The place is nearly paid for and I'm not going anywhere, meaning the balance is going to be 40Kish more than it was to begin with, in 2001:smoke:

I hope it goes well for you. I'm on the other side of that whole deal. Still paying a mortgage that should have been done years ago and lost many other assets as well. It hasn't been easy but I have my sanity. And from when I saw her last summer I'd say she doesn't, more neurotic than ever. The great thing was I was cool as a cat the whole time. My daughter commented on what a great job of handling her I was doing, which was vindicating. "Feels good knowing it's temporary". I know my daughter gets it.

You know why divorce is so expensive?......It's worth every penny. At least mine was..

special-K 12-29-2017 08:45 PM

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I remember talking to guys about my marriage issues and they all would say, "Cheaper to keep 'er". And I'd say, "Not mine!". The only reason divorce cost me so much was because of "her" crazy debt that was "ours" and we refinanced the house to pay it off. So I'm still paying off her debt. I'm sure she's still a financial idiot.

Now this is what FaceTruck was created for.

If we could just get somebody to complain about a local restaurant, or tell us to be on the watch because a black truck drove by their house twice today.

71CHEVYSHORTBED402, I have been sitting here thinking about how to, or whether to respond.

I have no experience and don't want any with the big D, but I have observed plenty.

It appears to me from those observations that the faster you can get it over with the better.

I wish you well.

OK, I'll play along. Yesterday morning, I put new rims and tires on my daughters Jeep. Her tires were looking pretty bad so I decided it was time for an upgrade. When I finished I wanted to get it washed so it was clean when she got home from school.
I went to our local car wash (A.K.A.- Auto Bell) to get it cleaned up because, to be honest, I was tired and didn't want to mess with it. I had just gotten off work (3rd shift) and it was almost lunch time. Figured I'd be in and out in 10 minutes.
So, the Jeep rolled through the wash and when it popped out the other side, an employee moved it around to dry it off. I walked outside and struck up a conversation with an elderly man waiting on his Cadillac.
When the girl finished drying the Jeep, she called out for the Jeep owner. I walked over and noticed she seemed concerned and was looking for something. She said "Do you have your keys?" - "Um, no... someone pulled it over here" She went and asked around and could not find my keys. In fact, nobody knew who pulled it over. In fact, I got a little agitated because they went back to work drying other cars. I went over and tracked her down and sorta made a scene. That got the search back on track and I even involved the manager. She said she was afraid she left my keys in the truck that was in front of me. And OF COURSE, at this point, it was long gone.
My patience were wearing thin, so another patron figured out what was going on and said they knew the woman. They called her and sure enough, she found my keys in her truck.

Unbelievable. What are the odds? Thousands of people roll through there everyday and in most cases, my keys would've been LONG gone. They called her and I sat and waited about 20 minutes for her to get back. I got a free car wash pass for my trouble. I was aggravated but relieved to get them back.

It's Friday, do you know where your keys are?:lol:

My hat day is hitchhiking cross-country because I was too cheap to buy it a plane ticket. It had made it to IA last night around 11:30. It's been on the road from WA since Wed.

Here's some Face truck drama
Wednesday morning trailer hooked up on my way to pickup a '62 C30. 15 miles down the road my gallbladder shot craps. Did a u turn dropped off the trailer at home and headed to the people garage where they proceeded to pull it. Now I'm sitting here trying to stuff down a spoon full of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. No appetite at all, sore tummy, dizzy light headed from not eating hardly anything and worst of all I still have a '62 C30 out there that needs picking up in the now single digit weather.
