Today I started back on the Suburban to finish little odds and ends that I have been putting off for a while now. Removed the windshield (which needs replaced anyhow) in order to paint the dashboard its original color. If I ever figure out why my pics arent showing up in my email I will post what progress pic I have so far lol

This is the top corner on the passenger side and is the worst spot that I will have to repair

The driver side corners and passenger bottom corner are decent so Im going to clean the seam sealer out and reseal all of the seams top and bottom now that i have total access to them with the windshield out

PO had painted the dashboard flat black and over time it has peeled off and the red is showing in spots, so now I can repaint it so it will be correct and will look much better. I scuffed the black off down to the original red just to get a jump on prep for paint

Seems crazy to me that the top would rust like that. I would have expected the bottom to go before the top.

Today I disassembled the " no door " on the Suburban to installed the new weather stripping and felt. Planning to assemble the "no door" tomorrow so that will be one thing off the winter project list.

Today I started to work on the patch Im going to need to repair the top corner of the A-pillar. Big thank you to Richard for coming through with a piece that will save me time and a lot of headaches. A-pillar patch piece has been stripped down to the outermost portion that I will be using.

Removed the bad portion of the A-pillar today. Tomorrow if all goes well I should have the patch fitted and welded in

That's always a pain. I had to do the same thing on the '67 Panel. Keep up the good work.... :)

This morning I cleaned up the patch and got it fitted up in the A-pillar. All welded up now and ground down. Another item to cross off the list.

Today after work I picked up the new windshield for the Suburban. I also applied sealer to the dash and windshield frame followed by some color. Sunday we plan on installing the windshield and another project will be crossed off the to do list.

Windshield is in. This is the second one I have installed, first one was in Dads 68 C-10 I helped him install without the trim and it went right in. This one didnt go as well as his did lol. I think when I get to the point on my 50 Hudson where the windshields need installed I will leave that up to the experts in town lol

Windshields can be a giant stressful pain in the butt. I’m always nervous about cracking them even after doing them for years at the shop I work at. Your doing a great job on your truck.
