I’m also contemplating putting a serpentine setup on Belushi to downsize the clutter on the front of the motor.

Nothing really happening here anymore, but I did upgrade/repair my sliding back glass lock. The one in the truck when I got it was broken so I bought the standard plastic Dorman replacement part from the local parts store. Went on fine and seemed to fit the bill, but I was out driving the truck last Sunday and noticed in the rearview mirror that the window was slightly open. Somehow the POS Dorman piece had broken...I never touched it after I installed it and it broke. So, I went in search of a metal replacement. Didn’t take long and I found one. So here are some pics and it does seem to be a much better option.

Where did you purchase the metal kit? I need one.

Amazon. Just search ‘DVL2 latch’ and it’ll be the 2nd or 3rd result.

Thanks Tina!

I also decided to clean, polish & wash the underside of the hood and install new hood insulation.

I also decided to install the rear wall carpet piece. I don’t really care for it, but maybe the little extra insulation factor will make it quieter inside?

I like both. I went with something a little different. I saw this and wanted it ever since. Got it after the OEM hood was painted.
I had the cardboard tool tray, but I carpeted over it. It seemed like it made the cardboard tray a bit more durable.

I ordered up an Eaton posi and an aluminum diff cover today. Hopefully, I get them installed next weekend.

Got the posi, diff cover...& a matching set of valve covers. I’ll start the install of everything this weekend. Hopefully, I’ll be laying down two fat black lines by Sunday.

Is that carpet 'wall' from the supplier or just bulk material that you made work? Fit looks nice.

It’s made by ACC. It does fit pretty well, cleaned up the back wall and it did seem to quiet down the exhaust note when sitting still. Oh, and it was relatively inexpensive and easy to install.

Well, I ended up with a pretty serious mishap. My differential that I ordered showed up, but.... It is the wrong one. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the differential until after I’d disassembled the rearend. The packing list says it’s for an 8.5”, but the new differential is an 8.2”. I’m dead in the water :whine:

Hahahaha, this is just par for the course for me.

Worst part is that the lift is tied up until I get the diff installed. I was going to get the diff in today and then get started on swapping out the transmission in Martha tomorrow...

Just so I can always confirm it has a 3.73 in it. Part # on the ring gear is 26035826 11-41 GMK. 41/11=3.727 :)

They are shipping a Yukon Duragrip posi next day air and giving me a substantial refund due to time lost.

Yes it does!

Well, it did show up as promised and It’s the correct part. :metal:

But I have my Falcon on the lift because I’ve got to get the trans pulled out of it. Hopefully I’ll finish pulling it tomorrow night after work. Then I’ll start back on Belushi.

To many PROJECTS!!!

I couldn’t STAND it. So I finished up installing the diff tonight. Ended up having to ‘shim’ up the pinion a tiny bit as it was a bit sloppy (&it needed a new seal anyway). It is quiet as a mouse, but no more right tire spin from a stop. I didn’t do any touch up painting as I was just amped up to get it back running, but here’s a shot. I promise that I’m going to clean it up paint the housing this weekend
