Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
sorry i cant go through 11+ pages of this thread.
Do you have a set for 8 lug? Do you have a kit including the wilwoods and rotors? or a complete kits with everything? Or at least a list of part numbers in one place? If I put wilwoods on that means I cant ever have an ebrake? I have to use a special ebrake caliper? |
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Sorry but no, I do not make any rear disc brackets for 8 lugs. There are several others that make them. Here are two of the best.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Sorry but no I do not have an update. I just have not had time with as busy as I am with my regular work. I worked 99 hrs in 6 days from last Thursday to Wednesday. Now I'm back to my normal 70-80 hrs a week.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Does anyone have any ideas on how or where to hook the parking brake spring? My truck is 99.9% finished. The only thing I need to do is hook up the parking brake so I can get my truck inspected. Any help would be greatly appreciated even if Redneck engineering is involved. I only need the parking brake to work once for inspection and I need to get it inspected this week. Thanks!

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Are you talking about the return spring on the caliper, or something different? Early in this thread there is a picture of an Eldorado caliper with the spring on it.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Thanks Capt. I got the spring routing figured out but I'm now struggling with the E- Brake cable. I just can't figure out how to mount the cable. Do u have pictures of the cable brackets yet? I just need a quick fix to pass inspection until you have time to make the real levers and brackets. Also will the original e-brake cable work or are we going to need an extension? Thanks!

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Let me see if I can get a couple finished tomorrow or Friday. I'll let you know.

Do you know the vehicle application for the JB/JD7 calipers with 3-5/32" pistons? I have never seen a D52 caliper with anything different from the 2 15/16" piston. Thanks. |

Never seen a D52 caliper with an E brake, the Caddys are D154 calipers unless you know of some? |
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
The JB/JD7 calipers were an option on the C20 and K20's. Year wise, I do know they were available in the mid to late 80's, but I do not know for sure on just other years they were available.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Yes, I figured out that it's a GVW thing, there's even a JB8 larger piston version for heavier trucks. I had never heard of this since I'm a 1/2 ton guy myself. Thanks for the info.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/DOT-Br...-20,36151.html will these work for the rear conversion?
|
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Yes those will work just fine, as long as your calipers have 7/16"-20 threads for the banjo bolt. If not you will need the hoses with the M10 banjo bolts.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
I just double checked those part numbers, and those are correct. The number 18-4035 should be the right side, and the 18-4036 is the left side. I don't know what that 3" and 2-3/4" measurement is, but it sounds to me like someone misboxed one of those calipers. I would take it back and get another one. You do not want to put two left side calipers on there. You'll never get it bled.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
I'm guessing that the caliper on the right is for a 1" thick rotor.
|
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
If you use that new caliper on the right side, the bleeder will be on the bottom, and you will never get all the air out of that caliper, unless you rig up some sort of way to do it when removed from the caliper bracket. This is why calipers are made as lefts and rights.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Hey Captain do you have a website where we can see your products or can you send me what you offer and the parts list that you have to have other than what you sell. I'd like to get a set of those rear disc brackets not real sure what else I will need.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
One more question, how much does this entire upgrade cost with your bracket then the extras at the parts store. Has anyone added it up and compared options?

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Sorry, but with working 70-80 hrs a week, I just do not have time to build my website. Most of what I have to sell is in the links in my signature line. There are a couple more links in the for sale threads.
Each of the 5 rear disc conversion brackets I sell, come with a parts list of what you need to complete the installation. The main parts are mentioned in each for sale thread. Quote:
That was done some time ago. Check out post #32 in this thread. Quote:

Hello Jim
No I do not. Have you checked with Ruff Stuff Specialties, or DIY4x? You will want to be sure to get brackets specifically for a Dana 60 with the GM housing ends. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com http://www.diy4x.com Quote:

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
I'm curious,
A '72 C10 with factory disk on the front, if I swap out to the Wildwood D52 calipers up front. Is it possible to reuse the factory front disk brakes with your brackets on the rear? |
