I talked to the owner, and thanked him for a good ad with good photos. I also offered him his asking price right then and there, cash, no questions asked, but he told me a fellow had already called him three times that day and could not make up his mind and that he felt he should give this guy first dibs. So he called the guy back and I guess that was enough to get the guy to make up his mind. I was already checking into plane tickets from NY state! So close. But I did not get it.

I agree with you. I personally told the owner he had a very good ad and thanked him for the photos. CL lets you use 24 photos so it drives me crazy when someone posts only one or two. I tried to buy it but missed out on it. Back to the hunt.

I’ve been that second in line “deal sealer” many times. It’s disappointing, but on the other side, really helpful when you’re selling and that second guy calls. :)

A really nice 70 just sold on BAT for over $85,000 check it out red and white one no top. they just keep going up. They have passed up chevells and el Caminos. NO SCAMS, I DO NOT NEED HELP SELLING.

I know exactly what you are saying. It is probably the best way to look at it to keep everything in perspective. It can definitely work to our advantage when we think about it. Thanks for the upbeat response. It is nice to know that someone knows what I am feeling like right now.

I don't think it came that way from the factory, dealer maybe. The Chalet was the square body era. I think it's price is too high but I may be wrong

Four Wheel Camper was established in 1972, so it is possible it was a dealer add-on pre-sale (but there was no such option or combo-platter from the the factory).

Kind of what I figured. Thanks for the info.

Note the difference in the mating surfaces of the camper (pic 1) and another such Four Wheel Camper setup on a 72 (pic 2, from their website) - one has no aftermarket shorty top and one does (with a big rubber seal, AND with curtains! - and a Hickey hood to boot)

In hindsight, this is likely an original owner (or later) add-on. Although it's advertised incorrectly as a 70, it appears to me to be a 71 - in other words, not a 72... so the campers wouldn't have been available to dealers in the 71 MY.

I seen most of the same things, Its a 1971 Blazer, maybe a barn find project that the guy has been working. If anyone is interested, start with Spid, then check all the hard numbers, Title, VIN plate and frame. Might have a non-legit title if advertised as a 1970.

That’s member cleszkie’s Blazer: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=677785

These K5 campers would make a good thread. That on the CL Blazer looks to have a similar attachment to the to the windshield frame and door glass as this example here so maybe it’s original but that’s just speculation: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...7&postcount=59 and here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...3&postcount=13

It was close to my area and already sold. Those three pictures alone convinced me that it would sell the first day it was posted. Original paint, original owners son, no spid pic needed, that truck sold itself.

Who bought it? I would like to buy this truck, is there information about the new owner?

I have no idea who bought it. Paint was medium bronze, NOT patina, looked like it had been garaged. Small details like the original hard line going to the carb, etc. in the engine compartment. Hubcaps were original, not 73-up like every other truck advertised as original. Price was fair, seller was not trying to “oversell” it. Located in the dry high desert. Easy sell. First person that showed up bought it, guaranteed. If it had been 4wd you can bet I’d have been the first guy there.

1971 Chevy C10. Bought this a year ago as a project. We have too many cars and not enough time to make this one shine. She runs, will need some work. Put a new carb on and changed the fluids. New fuel pump. Some rust in the rockers and floor pan, nothing a replacement part from LMC couldn’t fix. Frame is in great shape. Was a CO truck it’s whole life.

1972 GMC project. Long stepside! $9990. Not mine.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/p...225658531.html

Health forcing me to consider selling----------------------------------------------------PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING This is a project in the making. I have literally a complete NEW inventory for a extremely rare LWB Fenderside (stepside for Chevy) 1972 GMC C/15. This makes the parts compatible with the 1967-1972 C/10 & C/15. The price listed get you the complete truck plus over $8500.00 just in parts. (New 350 long block that will include transferable warranty. ) Edlebrock-Ram Horns-Quadrajet.
New heater core and blower motor with all new gaskets etc. just put in along with new chrome alternator with polished aluminum bracket. Keep in mind this is/has been a "frame off restoration" and pictures depict the stages of progress from the start. As truck sits now the cab is back on with new mounts, the new long block is installed with all new mounts and the original transmission has the new Hurst linkage installed. New quick ratio gear box is on.

MUCH EASIER JUST TO CALL FOR PARTS LIST.
