oh no.... I hope you dont have to drive on gravel or dirt roads. Mine had turn downs like that and would kick up dust like crazy.... No knocking your build because you have done a great job, just wasnt sure if you realized that would happen or not. Even at a stop on pavement the dust would blow up off the street really bad.

No, I am not going to leave it that way. I just wanted to get the bugs worked out on the truck before I take it to the muffler ship for the tail pipes.

good deal man... I bought mine with the turn downs like that and just drove it over the summer untill I talked myself into the frame off. Im going to do like a 6x3 inch oval side dump in front of the drive tires.

Yea I under stand about the dust. My shop is just a canopy without a concrete floor. I hope to have the truck running in a few weeks. George

Today I finished sand blasting my rally style wheels and painted then satin black. Tomorrow I go looking for four tires I can use on the wheels. I also received the oil pressure line today. I will install it tomorrow and then I can start my engine, keep your fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong. It is getting real close to a driver guys.

265 R75x15's are pretty tall (30.7) George. Is that what size you had before?

Re: 1968

George,

Are you gonna pull the distributor and prime the oil system before you start it? I cant recall if its freshly rebuilt or not but its been about 2-3 years since its been run so it wouldn't hurt if even if its not rebuilt.

If it is a fresh break in be sure to run it at about 2000 rpm for 20 minutes to break in the cam. got to keep that oil splashing on the cam during break in.

Re: 1968

George if you need a priming shaft I have one you can use.

IT"S A RUNNER!!!!!!!!!!
I finally got the ole girl running. I had to but another HEI distributor from a local supplier.
The MSD distributor was no good that I bought from a fellow board member 1 1/2 years ago. Guys check out the parts you buy and not just put them up somewhere. I also bought a set of four cragar 8" black wheels and center caps with new lug nuts

Re: 1968

here is the video of the truck running. I still have to put my rails back on the truck to separate the wires a little. To make it look clean. I will mount the tires on the rims Friday. Will post how they look on Friday. I can't up load the video something about a security token and ideas

Re: 1968

Probably just needed to replace the module in the distributor, they are cheap and easy to get. You could have put in a GM one even
