Vintage picture thread

They have one of these in the 67-72 section and I thought one would be neat here. They don't have to be official pics, though they work too, just odd random photos from the past with sqarebody trucks in them somewhere.
I'll gladly start off with my first truck and former self. It was a Cheyenne Big 10 454/th400. The knife was used on the farm and the occasional fish, squirrel, or rabbit. That's what they were used for back then. Let's see what odd pics are out there. |

Had these two at one time as well. A 74 half ton 4wd we put a 454 in and an 85 3/4 ton with a 350.
Alright, the pump has been primed. |
Re: Vintage picture thread
Here's some I posted a while back of my then new 76 stepper. Dang, I just realized that was 42 years ago!

Good idea for a thread. I worked out of this '78 Scottsdale Camper Special in the mid-80s. It was a 454/4spd. Had the wood bed floor. I never liked running boards. It had the extruded ones on it when I bought it, took them off. Painted the tool boxes and pinstriped to match truck. I had polished aluminum diamond plate bent for walking on top of boxes. I was doing new construction and even though I keep it on the street (unlike my 4wds), back then the roads would get mud covered. Boy things have changed. Anyway, mud was getting painted on the side ever day at times, so I put diamond plate running boards on using the same holes. Oh well, it was a work truck.
The second picture is when I bought it. I had just put the chrome step bumper on |

Re: Vintage picture thread
Some pretty neat trucks so far. I wonder how many of them are still around?
I've got parts of my first truck that I plan on making whole again one day. My Uncle was a salesman for the local Chevy dealership for years and probably had some neat pics at one time. No telling where they're at now. |

Old Pictures from family reunions when I was a kid. I don't remember who the first two belong to. But the last picture I believe was my dad's 79 Gmc k20 5.7 diesel 4 speed. He loved that truck so much. That he compared every other truck he had to it, for the rest of his life.

1981 GMC, a little underpowered with a 305 but a nice pickup when it was new, funny how big the sidewalls we’re back then. Unfortunately the Kodak 110 camera had some issues with centering pictures or so the operator used to say.

Is the C30 the one that was recently sold that has 30,000 miles? There is one that was recently purchased that looks identical floating around on IG |

My sister, cousin and me in 1978. This was the first diesel sold west of the Mississippi. It was fully loaded short bed. My dad got a new Chevy truck every year from 1973-1980 . This is the reason I ended up in the Chevy truck parts business. I was a natural fit.

The truck gives it away too. The baddest trucks around back then were just like yours. 44 mudders on a long box with enough lift to clear them. I didn't have the money to build one then but a friend of mine did and I loved the look of it coming towards you on the road. |
