Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
2 Attachment(s)
It can't be coincidence that these unrelated trucks have the exact same valance with the exact same AC controls and vents.
I NEED this to complete my cab and have been searching awhile. Can anyone HELP?! |
Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
Searched Vintage Air site and if they ever sold one they don't list it now on their website.
Found this online. Anyone think the ones in the photos may be this just bent by owner to follow our dash curves? https://www.ebay.com/i/193294907053?...oaArPHEALw_wcB |

Well do you know anyone with a sheet metal brake? It would be real simple to bend up a panel that you could then take and turn into a similar panel. Or know where a 60's/ 70's chevy fleetside bed is that you can cut the top six or so inches off one side and flip over and bend a lip on the side to make that panel?
Years ago I saved the under dash panel out of if memory serves right a Ford maverck. I think the one I have is like the top one out of a non ac car that has a little shelve on the drivers side to stick stuff along with the glove box. They do have one with AC outlets like shown in the bottom When I made my Custom dash I eliminated the glove box and this would have given me a glove box and place for the radio. Finding a Maverick in a wrecking yard now might be a serous challenge on it's own though. |

Possibly cut the bent metal at the 90* bend on both ends, hand form it to curve then weld the cuts up? Meh, doesn't sound right to me. I still think someone is manufacturing the matching ones in the pics I posted. Anyone? |

probably both custom fascias. as far as bending one up on a brake, without the curved end visible on the green dash, it just looks wrong imo. not that difficult to make out of fiberglass using plywood, mdf and cardboard mailing tube
bring your truck by the house, we'll whip one up :D |
Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
Will do!

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
I'm not finding that one, I found this one but to me it wouldn't look right in a TF and is way overpriced.

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
A CNC brake could create the curved pieces that span the dash using a series of small bends (a sheet metal shop beind our garage makes very nice rocker panels from pattern for short $$ using this method).
The green truck panel appears to have a cutout above the steering column while the orange truck appears to have a single piece spanning the cab. The detail above the column in the orange truck, the "hooded" appearance of the valance where the column passes through, would require imo a skilled fabricator and a fair investment of time. The green truck cutout has a steering column bracket bolted to and / or through the valence while the orange truck has a bracket in front of the valance (strange, after working so hard to put the hooded clearance notch into the valance). The difference in the two panels suggests to me that at least one is not a pre-produced item. This is a car version: https://www.classicchevy.com/1955-19...-262414-1.html Here is a thread where tri-five Chevy car owners are discussing making their own: https://www.trifive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57227 |

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
I usually sell my whole dashes complete but sometimes get a truck in that has had a cutout for an aftermarket radio . If I could have one I could cut the bottom 4 inches of an original dash . That would include the nice curves near the door opening. Shipping would not be too bad due to size of box but always costs a little more to get things into California.
On a different not you have a great looking truck. I have watched your build for the last few years. If I had the time and money I would build a clone . Same motor , suspension, drivetrain , everything. Great job |

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
Orge's suggestion of making one out of wood or foam to either use as a mold or to mold the fiberglass over might be a not that expensive but viable and doable solution.
I've always been too broke to buy something like that and had to figure out how to make my own. |

You could make one from wood thin foam and material to cover it

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
I saw on another truck group that no limits has them but you have to call and talk to them its not online

Yes, I know I could fabricate one myself either from metal, wood or fiberglas. Sometime after this virus thing is all over I've got to take my truck back in for carpet, headliner and possibly door panels. I had planned on asking him about this. But then I noticed the two trucks in the pics above and recognized they each had the same dash extender. I don't believe for a minute it's a coincidence. I'll give No Limit a call. If they have anything I'll post. |

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
I reached out to No Limit and Tina says they have them for $130. Trying to get a pic. Will post when I get it.
Cheers, Jim |
Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
I'd say 130 is a pretty honest price. Probably the same or less than a local shop would bend one up for.

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
It appears it is molded fiberglass. I got a pic, but cant tell much from it. Trying to get a better pic to post.
Cheers, Jim |

Re: Who Sells This Under Dash Valence?
Wow, can't thank you enough Jim! I'll definitely be ordering one.
We're moving this week - helluva time to be doing it given this virus thing but we bought the house before all this started so.....gotta do it now. Afraid to use pro moving help so my son-in-law and I will be doing all the (literal) heavy lifting starting tomorrow. After that, I'll finally be able to get back on my truck and do some of the final things I've been putting off waay too long. Thanks again everyone for your help@ |
