Rear Springs
Ok, I want to buy some 6” rear springs for my 72 K5 but I am having trouble finding manufacturers that offer them. After calling each of the manufacturers, here is what I have found so far.
ProComp ----not offered Superlift ----6 inch Tuff Country ----6 inch Rough Country ----not offered Rancho ----not offered Skyjacker ----5.5 inch plus add-a-leaf (EXPENSIVE!!!) Fabtech ----not offered Are there any other manufacturers that make a 6" lift 52” rear spring? |
Re: Rear Springs
I want to get a set from Deaver Springs, but they dont show a listing for our year blazer but they have a listing for 6" springs for '74 blazer (not sure if it is the same length). I'm sure they could custom make a set if they don't currantly make it.

Re: Rear Springs
Also you might want to consider National Spring. They build a custom spring specifically for youre vehicle , but you will probably need to scale youre blazer.

Re: Rear Springs
Rear springs are same for GM 4x4's from at least 71-87. As long as you have the 52" springs. Some 3/4 tons had 56" eye to eye springs. Measure eye to eye and order 73-87 lift springs with 52".

Re: Rear Springs
Any 52" spring thru 87 should work. Or you could do a shackle flip kit to help retain ride quality.

Re: Rear Springs
Hell Terry, you should just leave the suspension the way it is and drive it til it breaks...that's what I did and look at me now.

Front springs are different from 73+. Rears are the same. |
Re: Rear Springs
As noted above, fronts are longer on the 73-87. Rears are the same. I have National Spring 4" lift 52" springs on my Jimmy. I bent the axle mounts with 2 1/2" blocks and a 1 1/2" add-a-leaf. Axle wrap was terrible also. My springs have been on my truck since 1991.

Re: Rear Springs
Alcan is another one you could check into.
They make theirs using 6/7 thin springs per pack instead of only 4 thicker ones. Ride quality and flex are excellent. My blazer rides better than my moms lumina with the sport package.  |
Re: Rear Springs
I ordered a 4 " lift from rough country and was sent a 6" lift for my 71 4x4.So I know that they have a 6" lift that will work for a 69-72

Re: Rear Springs
I had the tuff country 6's then switched to the skyjaker 8's...... huge difference in ride quaility. I was very surprised. I guess thats why skyjacker is so darn expensive!

Re: Rear Springs
Ok The truth is you should really concider doing the Shackle Flip from ORD.
It Has a 4 inch drop so then you will only have to get a 2 inch spring. The Shackle flip is so much better ride and also helps axel Wrap. |

Re: Rear Springs
Are you saying that they are 8 inches like they are right now on the bare frame? I'm sure that they will compress alot when the body is on. I believe that is how the manufacturers measure them.

Re: Rear Springs
It will go down some but there isnt much weight on the back of the truck so it might go down to 6" on the back
