Put a tailgait on it some new chrome bumpers. Basically wanted to get it driver friendly before I started to really work on it. One thing I have learned if you can drive it and work on it you enjoy it and if I cant drive it I always sell it:metal: Sorry for pic quality cell phone pic

Cool man, started a thread!!!!! Looks like you started with a fairly nice truck, too. All that concrete and sand really helps with the traction in the winter months:lol:.

Future plans Next weekend put my dropmeber in followed by a Turbo 350 trans, shifter on the column. The 292 6 is stayin it runs great and does not leak or use oil.:metal: Bag rear install narrower rear end do whatever it taks to get back down more.:metal: RIGHT NATE.:metal: Also mount gas tank under bed and install raised metal bed floor. I would also like to paint over primer and tailgait (blend in greenstock color) Then drive the F OUT OF IT.

Your going the wrong way for Gasser influence. ;)

Lift the front 6 inches with a solid axle and parallel leafs.

Did Nate make the Dropmember any different so that you could use the 6 cylinder? (Is it a one-off design?)

Between Dinos63, c10addict, and NOW your truck,... I'm really beginning to love this '64-'66 body style!

Like the Gasser Idea!
Old School/Nostalgia!

Roadsters, Gassers, Altereds, Top Fuel, Funny Cars, Pro/Stocks, and even the modern age of nostalgia drag racing.
One of drag racings very popular classes formed was the Gassers. During the `50s, Model A and 1932-`34 Fords were considered the hot set-up for these gas classes. Using Ford V-8 "flatheads" and later overhead valve engines, Gas Coupe and Sedan classes had to maintain stock wheelbases and the engine relocation was limited. By the mid-60s, it was rare to find an upper classed gasser with any other body make than Willys, Studebaker, Austin or Anglia. They were the stoutest full-bodied cars on strips nationwide. Touring teams ran four to six times every week, often traveling several hundred miles day and night to make their next dates. This was old school racing! They were Bad to the Bone, before the fliptop funny cars took over in popularity. The battles in A/GS (later AA/GS) ranks created many heroes and villains who etched their marks into drag racing history. Gassers shared with fans of the quarter mile one the most thrilling overall racecar types, and for an era that was all too short, they were literally the Kings of the Sport.
