That first truck is beautiful.......nicely done.

Even if you aren't a Mopar fan, you gotta admit the Roadrunner is Bad@ss!

Hey Doug,... I actually took the "cheap way out" and entered the swap meet with member hot trux.
I spent a bunch of money the weekend before in Nashville,... so I was trying to save some cash. (I hated wasting my entry that I had)
Next year I will be there in the blazer. Des Moines is, by far, my favorite Goodguys event in the midwest.
And,... sorry, no pics of the engine compartment of the first truck. I'm not sure why I didn't take one. Must have been the "crowd" of people around it all weekend.

I'm not sure. I wish I had gotten his name. It did have Iowa plates on it. It was simply amazing! It even sounded better than it looked. The wheels are Boze brand with maybe some custom milling. The red stripe ads a flare to the wheels that really made them pop. I'm not a Mopar guy,... but this car was flawless.

Great shots Keith!

I remember seeing the black Ford F100 at the Magic Dargon show earlier this year. Still lovin' that '68!

The black '56 Ford got picked as a finalist for the Goodguys "Truck of the Year" award.
It was built by a St. Louis area builder. It's really, REALLY nice.

Thanks for sharing your pics, I gotta agree with lolife99, Des Moines is by far the best show I've attended. I drooled on the Mopar too. Talked to the owner, he seemed like a down to earth guy. I got the impression he did most the work himself.

My first car was a '71 Chevelle.
So I was especially attracted to this 502 powered 1971 Chevelle that was for sale ($55k).
It belonged to the "Pro Street legend" (of the 80's and 90's) Mark Grimes.

Kid,... if you ever get the itch to sell your '51,... send me a PM. I doubt that I can afford it,... but it was my favorite truck there. I wish I could have talk to you there. Maybe I'll see you at the Kansas Goodguys event.

This sweet '55 stayed at the host motel (Marriott) where we stayed.
Very cool guy that owned/built it. Super attention to detail!

He was well known for his suicide-door 65 but the better ride IMO was the little Chevy II he did. We hung out w/him @ the Street Mach. Nat's in DuQuoin (sp?) ummmm..... '90 maybe?

DuQuoin, IL was the "motherland" for the Pro Street scene, back in it's heyday. I went several years. Nothing else like it.
(My '67 Pro Street Camaro still looks the same as it did in 1990)
I'm still waiting for the Pro Street cars to make a comeback,... :metal:

I originally wanted to do a stock theme w/my 67 but w/the big tires (sort of like Sullivans Cheeze Whiz 55) but I didn't want to narrow the rear end & used big off-set wheels. I knew it was only a matter of time before more sizes were available in the big diameter rubber so I was waiting.....

Ultimately, my Mickey T's were sold off 'cause I just couldn't get into the look. I got the 20" TT2's when they first came out & those somehow made it to my 74 'cause the polished look just wasn't doing it for me either. Picky f**ker aren't I  .
