I am not real sure, but I don't think trucks came from the factory with flat beds. I think they were added at the dealer or other places.
Here are a few pictures I have saved along the way, of course none of them are mine. |
Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds

A mixture in fact, nut and bolt frame off resto work horse, i know the buildsheet is most likely long gone cuz the seat is out of the truck, its a bench, i hope the engine is matching numbers, by the looks of it i think it is, deffinatly a stock 4speed, SPID is in good shape from what i remember and the cab is beautiful, the bama woods have saved her from cancer

Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds
don't have any pics of it but my daad brought home a 69 chevy C-30 flatbed that was in parts when i was abought 8 yo and we put her back on the road thats when i got the old truck bug we used it as a work horse and me and my sisters learned to drive in it. the Iowa winters finaly got to it about 5 years ago (cross members in the frame rotted out) and dad sent it to a junk yard :( now i own three old trucks :)

It ain't pretty, but here is my 1970 GMC 1 ton flat bed. Picked it up for $750.00 minus the engine. Unfortunately, it was also minus the VIN tag (didn't realize that until I got it home). So, it just sees yard duty until I can find another 67-72 1 ton VIN tag and matching title. That was a lesson learned the hard way!

I wouldn't change a thing on that all original '67 Napco. That is a rarer truck than any CST. Sometimes base model just screams "Cool!" and this one does for sure. I'm glad Sakontr is treating it as it should be. Dig that GM brush guard! |
Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds
Never knew they sold trucks with factory flat decks
|
Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds
Flatbeds rule, pssh who needs a CST?

Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds
In my hunt for trucks and parts, I came across a 69 Flatbed dually. Its 100% original and never been touched. 75K miles. The current and only owner is 92 years old, and has decided to retire. The only rust is from the battery leaking. (bottom of right fender, inner fender and core support) 292, 4 speed. Cab is perfect as is the doors and left fender. The owner wants $2500 for it. I am not into these, but I could refer anyone to him if there is any interest.

Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds
Dang Terry,I wish I could swing that right now.
Another thing about factory flatbeds...the 68-72s used the same lenses for the rear side markers as pickups. They used a sheetmetal box made for the lense to fit and it fastened to the bottom of the side rail. I still have a pair I ordered to use on a utility bed but never used. |

Re: Lets see some pics of those stock flatbeds
Well I was wrong about the cancer, she has the normal rocker rot, but can anyone answer this, ok I know that all the big trucks like C40-90 had a handfull of different GVW's they could have been ordered with, were the 10's-30's that way? Really what I want to know is the green truck is a C20 but its a dually so is it a 3/4 ton or a 1ton?
