My '72 K20 was bone stock when I bought it in 1977 and not much has changed. Can't recall exactly but I paid roughly $3200 -- $3300.

Bought it from a guy who took it on trade for some concrete work from the original owner, so that makes me the 3rd owner.

I bought my Orange '68 C/10 Stepside in Pasadena, Calif, in June 1973* for $1200. It had a factory 292 L6, SM465 4-speed, 3.73:1 gear ratio, 7.00x17.5 tires, West Coast Jr Mirrors. 516 Orange.
All manual. Most likely a fleet truck. Only 6 entries listed on the SPID.
The odometer read just under 80,000 miles. Now it shows about 406,000.

*Hey! It's our 50th anniversary.

Bought my truck spring of '85. $1,500, K10 Custom/10 and had been rode hard and put away wet several times, LOL. Rusty, beat up and wore out but it was a 4x4! Drove it for several years that way then decided time to clean it up if wanted to save it. Changed out the bed, both doors, hood, tailgate, both outer fenders and inner fenders. I did keep the cab, frame and running gear tho, Was a 350 with the SM465 for several years but bad knees and arthritis help the decision to convert to 350Th. Added factory tach, tilt column, am/fm radio, tow hooks, Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 625 CFM carb, custom seat Line-X bed spray with under bed tank. LOT more than $1,500 in it now,

I bought my 72 Blazer in 2007 for $1500. It didn't have an engine and one of the fenders was mismatched. I put a $100 engine in it and drove it that way for six years.

Now it has an L31 Vortec I built for 330 HP/400 Tq, completely rewired, 2 1/2 dual stainless exhaust, and I'm slowly completing the body work.

My Dad bought this 1970 GMC C2500 Camper Special new in 1970. I think he paid $3600?

https://bl6pap004files.storage.live....660&height=321

When he died in 1993 it was given to me. I used it as a daily driver until 1999. That year I tore it down to start the restoration. Long story short it wasn't finished until 2018. I lost track of the total cost. So I guess you could say this truck cost me somewhere north of $45,000. Here it is today.

I didn't technically purchase mine, my wife did. Paid $2000 for it for my 25th wedding anniversary present. That was in 2020. Still mostly stock (283, 3OT) but I have lowered it, rally wheels, relocated fuel tank, and converted to power disc brakes up front.

Delivery day and today.

Bought first truck in 2001 and paid 8000.00 which I guess was lots back then but loved everything about about and was rust free at the time. I had been through a personal rough patch the 2 years before so was time to do something forc me. Had a newly rebuilt 396 and turbo 400 trans. Sold it 2014 but learned lots about the trucks and used it quite a bit over the years and think I put 8/9000 miles, remember up here can only use the truck for 6 months a year, on it over the 13 years I owned it when I sold it in 2014.

Bought this one off Ebay out of Oregon in 2012 and all in with shipping and exchange had 6000.00 tied up in it. Was a 307 with TOTT and factory overdrive that worked and it only had 61,000 miles. Rust free CST with factory A/C and a cherry interior but needed the wood box for redone. Shoulda, woulda, coulda kept this one and sold pinky then but when driving it keep getting hung up in second gear which ticked me off big time so sold it for a tidy profit. In retrospect I should found someone to rebuild what it need to stop the hanging up in 2nd gear.

My present truck found on Craigslist in South Dakota in 2014 ,900 miles away, and bought it in 2014 for 9800..US dollars and by the time I paid exchange taxes and the expense of going to get it cost around 12,500 all in. Original rust free 72 Custom Deluxe non package Highlander truck with 350 and auto trans and factory working A/C. I've transformed the truck to my liking and kept the original classic lines in and out.

Bought my 69 in 2009 for around $3,000 in Saskatoon SK

Had a 67 Stepside that I bought in 1992 for $3,000. Sold it to a guy in 1995 for a tidy profit who ended up marring my sister and he still has it (and her).

I bought my 72 in 1999 for 2200.00 with adding my labor to date I would guess close to 45K. The 71 we bought last in January for 1800.00 and I would guess we are close to 6K into it now and still climbing.

Well, if ''WMA'' means White Male American in Dragnet's police code, then WMB must mean White Male Brit.

Remarkable Jim.

September 1989. Rust free and mostly intact 1971 SWB 402 Deluxe with AC - $2800. I'm the second owner with a small dealership between us. It was special ordered new locally, by COD garage.

Personally I have a load of history in the area where I bought it 2nd hand. Including 2-3 paper routes, my ex worked there 15 years, and my first and greatest crush was another. Had my all time favorite ice cream stop, and my all-time favourite job would be next door. RIP my parents rest there. So of course the truck's my favorite vehicle.

Bought my 1969 C10 LWB in 1989 for $2600 at a "we tote the note" lot in the northeast Fort Worth area.

307/TH350, upper and lower side trim, white front bumper, dealer-installed painted rear bumper, no A/C or power anything. Originally sold in Electra, TX.

68 C10 Custom Trim (formerly a LWB)
Bought July 14th 2019

I paid $6000 for my 68. It was a complete rust free original paint truck from So Cal that had just moved up to the Portland area right before I bought it. Had a brand new rebuilt 350 that replaced the 292 I6. Had a brand new power steering kit, a ECE 2/4 drop kit, new rally wheels and white letter T/A's, new vinyl and tweed seat cover and door panels. The windshield or rain gutter seal failed and that then turned into a full frame off restoration to the short box it is now.

I’ll step in to solve the mystery…Working Man’s Burban. HO455 has documented so much of his work on WMB in his build thread (invitation to wander over to the Suburban side) that I and many others go to it for help…plus he is always ready to give assistance when a question pops up!

I bought my 71 C10 in 2017 for $4,400. I had the stock SBC 350/TH350. Since then I have gone through everything mechanically (repair, replace or rebuilt). I replaced the tranny with a rebuilt 700r4 and 3.73 rear gear. The Body still looks the same today.
I am the third owner. This was a farm truck all its life until I bought it.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?

I bought my ‘72 Suburban in November of 2017…for $13,500 in California dollars! The upside is that I only had to drive 90 miles to the high desert where it had lived it’s whole life (very little rust) and it pretty much “checked” all the boxes for me…plus the ‘89 454 had been stored in new/unused condition until 2012 when it was installed, then due to health reasons, was driven very little for a couple of years and was non-op for four more years before I bought it from the original owner. My mechanic confirmed that the engine was hardly used.
