I was watching kill bill vol 2 the other day, and bills brothers truck was a 65
I got to thinking of others that I remembered from the movies, the hero in mars attacks has a red 60, and in men in black , a beautiful 61 ss gets imploded by an alien (classics have no value whatsoever to hollywood),clint eastwood uses a 60 gmc in bridges of madison county. add some if you guys know of any more.... |

"What Lies Beneath" Michelle Pfeiffer drives a nice fleetside at the end of the movie. I wanted one just like it.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Yall might want to check out the Internet Movie Cars Database, www.imcdb.org . They have pictures of just about every car in every scene of every movie. This site can entertain me for hours.

There is a gray '63 Suburban on The Worlds Fastest Indian, starring Anthony Hopkins, playing Burt Monro.
Nubbie of Nub Graphix, the painter on American Chopper also drives a '64-'66 Suburban. Clint Eastwood drives a '64-'66 Chevy stepside on Any Which Way But Loose with his sidekick orangutan, Clyde. I found an inside shot that is a '60-'63 and an outside shot that is a '64-'66. This is a cool Chevy Truck link: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d...570153fd13.htm |
Re: 60-66's in the movies
.......in a Cheech & Chong movie...not sure which one..maybe Up in Smoke..the police use a panel as a survellence vehicle. It was a fake cleaning company and they would look out the side thru a zipper on some pants painted on the side.

A Perfect World - beautiful 63 GMC.
Another Clint Eastwood movie too, he must like 'em... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...rfectworld.jpg |
Re: 60-66's in the movies
I don't recall the movie, but when I was 15 or 16 I saw a movie with Johnny Cash in it and he drove a '64-'66 stepside (I think it was gold in colour).
That was what got me started on finding my current vehicle. Greg |
Re: 60-66's in the movies
I was watching Back To The Future the other day when I was sick, and I noticed that at the end of the movie, there's a Suburban like mine (blue in color) parked across the street from Marty's house. It has no role in the movie, but I couldn't help noticing.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I see lots of '60-'66 Chevy trucks, panels and suburbans as extras in movies, TV shows and commercials, that do not have a starring role. I would like to take my fleet to Hollywood to be used as extras.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
William Hurt drove a 60-66 in Children of a Lesser God. Also, a 60-66 was used in one of the Raising Arizona chase scenes....great movie by the way!

I haven't heard anyone mention they saw one of our trucks in a recent movie. A few weeks ago I got the "you haven't gone to a movie with me for a long time" from the MRS. So I agreed to go see the movie "Twilight" with her. Low and behold there is a pretty straight '63 long step in the movie. It's a little strange looking though.....it is a Custom Cab with the trim and a stepside. Surely I'm not the only one that got drug along to see this 'chick flick' Anyone?
Here's a pic.....not the best pic, but the only one I could find right off. |

Not exactly a movie , but it is from one of the most popular videogames that has outsold most movies . Grand Theft Auto.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I just remembered; my '63 was used in the television program "Top Cops" in the early '90's.
They put Missouri plates on my truck and used it in a chase scene as well as a background vehicle. My brother drove it and got paid as an extra in the episode. Greg. |

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I saw a movie last night ( Sum of all Fears ) that had a fleetside in it . The scene was in the desert as they were trying to pick up the lost atomic bomb and load it into the back of the truck . Only showed the truck from a rear 3/4 angle so you couldn't tell what year it was .
