Re: why?
I you ask me, he ruined a perfectly good truck. Sure it could be fixed with a new cab, but I'd rather build my own.
|
Re: why?
looks like it should belong to a red-neck pimp
|
Re: why?
some trucks look great chopped, 67-72's don't
|
Re: why?
Easy guys, remember that the person that built this truck probably put his heart and soul into it. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if a whole forum thrashed your ideas and enginuity(sp). I do not know the owner or builder but he did put a lot of work into it. I understand also that everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm just saying put yourself into the builders shoes, you would probably love it.

Re: why?
looks fast sitting still, but i think they could have done a smaller chop and it would look better
|
Re: why?
Yeah, I'll pass on that one...
|
Re: why?
Lots of work there just not my thing....and thats all I'm gonna say bout that.

Re: why?
i like but id change a few things though
|
Re: why?
great choice of color.Chop is a bit extreme for my taste but the effort is not lost on me.Anyone know how the front fenders were sectioned? They look pretty stock to me.
|
Re: why?
Do I like it?Not really.Hopefully it wasn`t a "perfectly good truck" to begin with.Too much chop, even if a chop would work on these trucks.Since it`s bugged-up anyway...heck,why not add stacks for that "Please Call Fashion Police!" look.
|
Re: why?
Why?
Because he could? |
Re: why?
Well, it's, um, different?
|
Re: why?
i will be right back! message to self.....NEVER DO THAT!!!!!
|
Re: why?
I wonder if he would part with that gold iron twist license plate frame! Got to have one of those on my truck!!
|
Re: why?
$20,000 worth of receipts don't always mean you got the best.
Not exactly what I would have done (okay, not even close), but to each his own. I like the color. I really do. Funny, the description even makes sure you know it has functional wipers. Short version..... Coming at you, you get a knot in your stomach...anticipating a killer truck... After it passes, that knot expells itself onto the parkinglot in a violent spew of last night's pasta salad. |
Re: why?
I think they were trying to achieve that "I'm a dumbass" look.  Seriously though, I can appreciate the countless hours that went into a project like that.
|
Re: why?
I'm really diggin the chain steering wheel, I wish they came in 17" since I dont have power steering!
Wait a minute...I have a welder, some log chain and a can of silver spray paint. I'll let you know what I come up with! |
Re: why?
:agree: The stacks in the bed...WHY?
|
Re: why?
I LOVE it to each his own Im sure every one can set at a computer and gripe about something some one else did. The thing is there is there is no other truck out there that looks like his he had a vision and he built it. His vision is not the same as every one else. If every ones vision where the same we would all drive ford:lol:
|
Re: why?
|
Re: why?
:agree: The builder/owner had a vision for what they thought would be dazzling, and went for it. I respect that. As a package it might not be what I would have done, but there are some aspects of the truck that has given me some ideas for my own truck.
|
Re: why?
Well, there is a lot to look at and it certainly makes me smile. Of course, I think that a chrome air cleaner is "custom". :o
|
Re: why?
I'm sorry guys, but the question was "Does anybody like this?" and if I am going to answer that question truthfully, not me. Sorry, call the Politically Correct police if you must, but that truck is not pretty. I fully envision Cheech and Chong pimpin' this through downtown L.A. with about 50 lbs. of "Blond Lebanese Hash" between the seats. And for the record, I would rather have someone tell me honestly that they don't like my taste in trucks than to lie to me to make me "feel good". ...........................Bamm!:metal:

Re: why?
And BTW, imagine what the bid would be on a unmolested truck in the same condition. I wonder if he'll throw the 65 first place trophies;)
|
Re: why?
I just threw up a little in my mouth. :(
There's a purple '71 that has been chopped that runs around in this area. What I don't get about it is with all the work they put into it to modify the cab they painted over all the firewall, sill and door rust. Looks decent from 50 feet until you start to see all the bondo and rust bubbles. To each their own I guess. |
Re: why?
I love the look all it needs is visor, 4x4 frame and 44 swampers. Then id mud it.

Re: why?
absolutely wouldn't be caught dead driving it.

So I said "Thanks for bein honest bu uh....**** you, its mine and I like it" But in all reality I hated it, I couldnt keep it running longer than a week at a time. |
Re: why?
That is not my idea of cool. I do like the steering wheel though!!! I got to find one of those LOL!
|
Re: why?
All that work and he forgot to louver the hood, lame.
Maybe he's saving it for his next project.(?) |
Re: why?
It's all depending on the proportions. Some cars/trucks look better chopped than others. 49/50 Merc look way better chopped than stock. Heck any ford from 29-34 looks better with 2-3" off the top.
But a 67-72 with the way the body flows, chopping the top just makes the bottom look heavier/chunkier than it really is. I can appreciate the effort it takes to do a chop job, but don't have to like what it was done to. Just an opinion, nothing more or less. It's his truck he can do what he wants and I can voice whatever opinion I have about it. |

Re: why?
My old dad told me "ifn you dont have nothin good to say, dont say nothin at all".....but I never did listen! You guys are a bunch of critics......if it aint stock, you gotta slam it. Now I will say for sure that the chop was a little short for my taste, but you need to respect the work that went into that;) ill bet at least 1/2 of the critics are 1/2 my age, & never touched custom work like that (Ill be 50 this year), & you guys are allready hardset in your veiws.....wait till you are my age.....I hope you all mellow out some! Im not here to say whats right/wrong with a build, as there are many ways to do the same old truck. What I am saying is OPEN your minds to the next guys build(even if you dont agree with it), as chances are it was not built for YOU! Off the soap box....... L
