Hi all I have been lurking around this site and reading through allot of great builds, I have just earlier this year finished a 69 c10 build and now I have jumped into project number two a 66 suburban,I purchased this suburban back in march of 2012,it came as a body and two frames and some extra parts,I have been working as we go on the burb while reading some really cool threads and meeting some cool people along the way well here we go.

Thanks Mike you have a cool burb build going also I kinda got hooked on these old trucks and ran across this one in Las Vegas on craigs list, I picked it up because it was pretty rust free, It looks like someone tried bondo over a bunch of small dents, ive since stripped it and sent to my painter in California, those picks will be soon.

Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
Mike by the way i have the original front seat and two bench seats for the rear that are the long ones,It also came with dual sliders windows that are rusted on the bottom im going to repair them with vent window channel from left over vent windows from my 69 its the perfect size and plenty long enough.

The test fit of the engine that did not work, with the ls1 style plates that didnt seem to work correct,so i had to buy the classic motor mount set up

And more,my body guy will take the doors, hatch and other goodies off himself, also he will install the tall floor hump in place of the low hump, should clear a 4l60e according to you wise men.The tall floor hump came with the burb back when i purchased it.
|
Re: 66 suburban aka the sub
The burb came with factory air including the center vent, include drier condensor, but i have no ideal why the fire wall was cut up in such a way, maybe this was a factory unit that was dealer installed I dont really know, looks like my body guy has to cover those to.
