Re: truck nats maggy valley

Charlie has the host motel listed as the Quality Inn. If you check out the tourist info for lodgeing in Maggie Valley it has the largest number of rooms listed. There is a motel right across the road from the show but I think you can safely say that it has not been remodeled since the early 60s! It may be very nice, clean and even cheap but my wife said she wasn't staying there:lol: . I haven't really checked into lodgeing any further. I may try and find a cabin with a Jacuzzi nearby.

I checked through the Quality Inn website and I can't find a room cheaper than $80. On Charlie's website he stated he got it for $49.

What's the name of the hotel across the street from the event, Asa?

I just need a bed to sleep in.

Anything has got to be better than the show hotel from last year, it
was the worst room dollar for dollar of anywhere I have ever stayed,
Rob just get all the info you can, and if anyone will do a group rate.

Well it was $99 a night, and it had a jacuzzi in the living room area next
to the bed, it was shaped like a heart, and it looked like it was installed
during the 70's, I guess it could have been worse, just not what I had
expected to get, the regular room rate was like $129 or $149, that was
the show special, I;m just spoiled I guess since I always stay in Cabins.

Bryan I think the name was the Holiday motel. Check the address on Charlie's flyer and compare it to the address of the motel. I am pretty sure the motel's info said it was across the street from the festival grounds.

Hey Eric, I may end up needing a 67/68 hood also, no money for a cowl right
now, so keep your eyes open for a complete clip now, instead of just parts :(

I never go without my toolbox and gloves! Let me know if I can help. Make sure you spray down all your bolts with PB. It would suck to break one off and have that halt your progress.

There are alot of cute little motels.I didn`t see anything shabby.I think I stayed at the Holiday Hotel,I liked it.You probably have to go out by I-40 to find a national hotel.Be sure to see the Wheels Through Time museum there.I posted some pics in Misc.Pics.

For those with some time to kill. There is some nice trout fishing in that area. Cherokee has their own one day license and some good size trout. Those with NC license can find all types of creeks from wild, catch and release, hatchery supported, and delayed harvest. There are also some pay trout ponds. Enjoy.
