thinking about dropping my truck with a 3/5 drop from ece
just getting the rear 5'' drop kit and cutting the fronts

could i go with the rear 6" drop kit and still be able to cut the springs to a 4" drop?
or will i need different springs for the front?
or spindles i don't have disk and don't have to money to spend on new disk brakes.
will it bottom out on the frame if i don't c notch?

Here is an old pict of my truck with 3/5 drop cut springs and 5 inch in the rear...It rode like crap specially in the front the back was just fine.

cutting the springs on anything will decrease ride quality by a long shot, especially over time.

one full coil is generally 2. I have had alot of trucks with front cut springs and the all road great

Yeah as long as I get drop shocks It should be alright is what Im thinking I'll be fine
So can I cut one and a half and have the spring seat right?

Here is mine with a 4/5 drop.........18 in the front and 20 in the rear,

The truck would hit hard whenever you hit a bump and it was very bouncy..

Here's mine with a 3.5/5 drop. 15x8" wheels 255/60/15 front, 275/60/15 rear tires.

nicolas, does your truck bottom out at all and do u gotta c notch? bottom out with heavy load in bed?

Occasionally I can hear the front tires chirp on the inner fenders when I hit a large dip in the road at higher speeds. It is probably the outer part of the front tires hitting the outer part of the inner fender. The rear has bottomed out when I had about 1000 pounds of stuff in the bed. I don't have a c-notch but would like to do one with bags one day. Overall I hardly ever bottom out. I was real suprised considering how low I went. I was expecting more bottoming out than has happened. :metal:

What size tires are you running? I am assuming your wheels are 15x8 rallies.

235/70's and 275/60's, and yes they are 15x8 rallies. I like them better bare than with the beauty rings.

Rene those 3 trucks sure look good with the slots on em. Reminds me of my first truck. 8 & 10" polished ET's. The 3/5 drop looks to be the all around best drop. Well IMO. ;)

Yeah... I'm thinking before I drive 400+ miles to Atwater... we would need to be much further along then "might let you talk me out of a set". :hm:

Shoot, I got 15" slot mags on mine right now and want ones like are on the yellow and white pickup. Anyone want to trade me? ;) They are 6 lug...so when you are thinking of trading... ;)

Hey threeontree. I have a 69 chevy short bed 2WD C10. I replaced my stock front drums and a-arms with a set off a 86 GMC 1/2ton with disc brakes. Think I paid 250 for everything also came with sway bar, power steering and tie rods. Everything bolt up nice. Could be a cheaper route for ya!

What would the ride difference be between 1" coil/2" drop spindles and just using a 3" drop coil?

After pic on 255/55/18 weld rims wit a 3/5 cpp spring kit bought on eBay for $289 no spindles and drive a little tighter and slightly bumpier
