Any recommendations on the electric fan? i think I'm gonna go with the Jegs single 16" S-Blade 2200 CFM puller. The engine and tranny had 70K+ miles.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
i'm planning on the same radiator... but i gotta look into this. http://hotrodlane.cc/77chevytruck/77chevy.htm
apparently you can order the fans to go with the radiator. btw, (if you dont mind) how much did the radiator alone set ya back? here's a couple more options too... http://bertok.us/agreif/fans/fanstech.htm http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/sh...hp?tid/194489/ |

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
he said it has ls6 heads
|
Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
There not LS6 heads either. LS6 heads have a 243 casting number. It looks like 799 on these or 79somthing

Belt, A/C compressor, and power steering pulley are off. Waiting on the A/C relocator pwr steering pulley and belt.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
There is no difference between the two heads. The numbers tell what original mold the casting came from. 243 mold was done at GM Research, the 799 mold is used by other vendors. The same vendor will have 243 and 799 molds. The numbers are just a GM system for when the mold was made. If a head had a problem it helps them track down where the problem started. The only difference between the heads is production variance.

# Type: 45° Flaring Tool
# Maximum Pipe Capacity (Inch): 3/4 # Minimum Pipe Capacity (Inch): 1/8 |
Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
just remember for the AN fittings they use a 37* flare. brake lines and such use the 45*.
my 45* is a craftsman and i'm really happy with it. right around $80. i had bought 2 cheapo ones from orielly and broke'em both. i'm going to order a summit brand 37* for the an fittings. |
