Cool, Not many Ontario members on this board. I figured all the old trucks back east would be piles of rust and dust by now. You guys better take extra special care of those trucks of yours. I used to live in North Bay, Peterborough and spent a year in Toronto. I also got cousins in Owen Sound. But Vancouver Island is my home now. Yes, Victoria, BC "land of the newly wed and nearly dead", the California of Canada.

vycc 02-16-2003 06:58 PM

Ipaine: isn't it great living on this island.....i'm in Victoria,BC and i love to be able to work on my vehicles year round OUTSIDE...lol

How many are from Vancouver Island or BC in here??? don't mean to steal the ONT thunder....

Snowbound 02-16-2003 07:50 PM

Greetings from Fort McMurray! Probably the furthest north Canadian on here. Hey Oldsub, my wife is from Kenora. The family just bought a lake lot at Colloden Lake just north of there. Looking forward to catching some Smallies this summer!

Brian

Over_My_Head 02-16-2003 08:12 PM

Hello from Oshawa! Did Willy freeze to death this year or what??

You Wiarton people are probably sick of talking about a rodent.

(for the unknowing Wiarton has a ground hog named Wiarton Willy and it is a big thing on Ground Hog Day. Don't Canadians call them wood chucks?)

REPO1 02-16-2003 09:53 PM

Northern B.C. here.

There are alot of these trucks up here. :)

oldsub86 02-16-2003 10:03 PM

Hey Gee_Emm

Yes I can think of a picture or two from last summer. Will see if I can post something.

oldsub86 02-16-2003 10:05 PM

Hey Snowbound

How old is your wife? I went to highschool in Kenora. It is a small world. My younger son is dating one of the daughters of a girl I went to school with in Kenora.

Alright - took me a few edits as I couldn't remember how to post a picture but I did it. This was last summer and we were sort of making like a farm truck and hauling a lot of grass off to the landfill.

You can see the truck is pretty much basic and original.

Canadian694x4 02-16-2003 10:47 PM

Well Willie din't freeze to death...but he did die about 2 years ago like 3 days before the big event...everyone joked they just spray painted a rat white that year :D

So Over_My_Head? 920 on GMC's is a Canadian version of a C20 pickup? I always wanted to know what was behind the 920 badge...

oh and thanks to all who replied!

:canada: :bowtie:

Snowbound 02-17-2003 01:51 AM

oldsub,

The wife turned the big 30 last fall, but she didn't go to high school there. She moved out here in about '85. Half her family is still there ( Favreau ). It's a beautiful place, but no work other than the mill. But if they ever find oil there.........

The company I work for has a paint booth manufacturing facility in Barrie. It is called Blowtherm but that will be changing soon.

Gee_Emm 02-17-2003 10:17 AM

That truck looks pretty straight oldsub, is it still on the streets?

"So Over_My_Head? 920 on GMC's is a Canadian version of a C20 pickup? I always wanted to know what was behind the 920 badge..."

Yup and a 910 would be a "1/2 ton GMC"
