I believe this is factory. Don't know about the codes, though. I believe the roof may have originally been white or gray. Anybody know for sure?

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

friend of mine used to have an 85 rclb that he painted to match his older brothers old truck, not a 2 tone but it had a cool stripe package, 3 stripes, white and 2 other colors (I forget now) that ran down behind the doors, about halfway down the door it got wider and zagged toward the front, ending in a point right by the front wheel. I've only ever seen those two trucks, but it was supposedly a factory trim package, according to him. Anyone ever seen one?

How about 3 tone? The CUCV Blazers and trucks came from the factory with the 3 color NATO Woodland camo. The paint codes were pretty simple too, 383 - green, 383 - brown, and 383 - black. Its so cool popping the hood on my M1009 and showing people that it reads "SPECIAL PAINT - CAMOFLAG" (missing the "E") on the SPID.

There was another thread here that showed big truck paint combos.
Last fall, we were in Boise City, Ok. during maize harvest. This one was sitting on the street. Couldn't resist a pic. No one was around or I would have ask to check the total mileage. Since it spent it's life only working about a month a year from farm to grain elevator, the mileage could have been as low as 30,000 or less.

I know the pic is crappy, but i found this at the junkyard 2 wks ago. It was white in the middle, and yellowish green on the top and bottom chartruse(sp). It`s sad, truck was all factory and complete, woodgrain dash and all.

This scheme is a little unusual. Typically, the grey and black are the other way around, with the grey being in the middle, and black on the top and bottom. I've only seen 1 other truck like this.

Man Oh Man! Looking at that bad boy brings back memories! My dad had a '73 SWB Cheyenne painted just like that (except the white top) when I was a kid. He had dual glasspacks, 10" ET slotted mags, and fat RWL BFG's on it. It was optioned out and had the tan/saddle? interior with the matching woodgrain on the dash pad, instrument cluster and door panels. I loved that truck, and was so mad when he sold it. Everybody called it 'Ol Red, even though it was orange, which I always thought was weird. I would love to have a restored one just like it!

haha  now im going to ask my mom if she has a pic of my dad's old 82 shortbed that he had bought new, it was silver and red two-tone just like that. i didnt think that was rare but now i guess i do. when i was young and the truck was new it looked fine, but after a bit the red at the bottom started fading and the silver reflected its age and started looking dingy, more dirty actually, but it looked salmon color.

ive only ever seen one other truck like that, and ive lived in many states all over the country too.
his was a 305/350 combo with dual tanks, red vinyl bench, dummy lights, red rubber floor, it was a scottsdale i remember, i always thought that was a type of dog and thats what i called the truck, "dog".

we customized it when i got to age 16. all sky blue, over-the-bedside toolboxes painted silver with matching ugliest-rear-bumper-i-ever-seen out back to replace the original, tinted the windows, molded the tailgate smooth and sunk a fold down license plate in the middle so we didnt have to flip the handle, then gave it gray cloth buckets, modified console, and steering wheel from a 93 or so cavalier, and a nice lil factory buick tape player knobbed radio and kraco booster/eq in the middle console, and 6 factory gm 6x9s from the junkyards that was loud as SH!+ and everything inside we had to change color on that was left we smothered in cheap grey carpet... and it got new whitewalls on rallies with NO DROP, WTF? i just couldnt talk him into it...AT ALL!

oh yeah, damn brings back memories, i gotta find that pic so you can see what your truck's lil brother looked like new (since dad's was a swb)
