support for longbeds

Hey guys I'm tired of getting my balls busted about having a longed. Let's show them how awesome longbeds can be. Post a pic weither its a sleeper, a cruiser, a better, or a beast.

Here is a picture of my lwb stepper farm truck I had until recently when I gave it to one of my grandsons.

I gave it to him because he is helping me build a '67 swb stepper.

I got two quads I haul in it, the longbed makes it possible.

Old threads never die, they just need someone to take them To The Top.

It was started awhile back, but its still an active thread. Last post was only on the 26th. Personally I like having one post that shows all the long beds (or whatever the truck) so I dont have to shuffle through 3 or 4 posts to see all the pics.

Here's mine! I like trucks because they are trucks - made for hauling. They can look good and go fast, but they need to be able to haul. The more room for hauling, the better...:gmc2:

I take it these guys bustin' your chops are car-convert wussies who seem to have the need to displace their feelings of inadequacy through the criticism of the length of your truck . A real truck guy likes any nice truck, not just one like theirs or what they see in magazines ;)

Re: support for longbeds

I can see a shortbed as a replacement for a car or for a weekend cruise, but I need a truck. 4X8 sheet goods in the bed with the gate closed, or hauling a pallet of whatever.

I have owned both, but always come back to the longbed. Maybe someday I'll have both. For now, it's about hauling stuff.

I also owned an S-15. Not only was it 6" too short, it was also narrow. Eeeew.

This last weekend, I had to haul a couch up to my parents' cabin at Donner Summit. Then haul the old one home. I also brought up a couple bikes, pressure washer, weed-wacker, etc. Its nice to be able to close the tailgate.

1967 LWB step side took this pic just last week after replacing upper control arms and cutting a coil out, figured I go ahead and put in the correct core support while I was at it. She isn’t bug eyed anymore thank goodness. Looks a ton better. And that’s my little helper.

We all know that short beds are a few feet short of a real truck.

a favorite picture of our 67, ...I think I got hooked on long beds about 14 yrs ago, I had an 83 f150 longbox 4x4 extended cab, ... I lived about 10 miles west of where I worked. 5 miles of gravel. .... I could go about 80 and the truck felt very stable, if it had been a shortbox I think I probably would have rolled it.. not bragging, just remembering..... I do not drive like that anymore. ..... Marriage, Son and better time management helped all of that;)

p.s ..all very nice trucks posted, but the Ed Miller Drag Truck that special-K posted could almost give me goosebumps.:)

thanks for listening, .. life and goosebumps are good, kent

Nothing like being able to haul building supplies like 2x4's and plywood sheets IN the bed, not hanging off the back. Long beds rule! :metal:

That ol' truck chugs right along. I had the two boys in the back sitting on the couch with their bikes as I bombed down some dirt roads, even ran through some snow! I saw another longbed up there this last weekend, he loaded up four bikes in addition to all the other stuff he already had in there, he had just put a new 383 in it.

You moving to Roseville? There goes the neighborhood. :)
