Patina, patina, patina.....70' swb

A good friend of mine turned me on to this little diamond yesterday, the truck was owned by the original family for 38 years and in 08' was sold to a neighbor who drove it home never touching it again, deciding to sell it this month. It appears to be mostly stock, the 350/350 combo which is filthy  runs, the moldings although faded are clean, the body (oh the body) is extremely nice (rockers and floors included), the factory tinted glass gives it that nice added touch, aftermarket AC was also added at sometime and may work. Once I get her home the fun will really start! Oh yeah!:chevy:

No, the bumper wraps around the fenders, I'll post more photos once I get it home.

Yes, that molding is real nice and if you look a little closer you can see the "bullseye" back up light lenses.

What's the deal with the bullseye up lenses? I have some of those, are they the preferred choice of back up lenses?

It sure looks like those rear quarters are cut for that cool rear bumper to fit back there. :)

I love the non-factory a/c too! Nice truck!

I don't blame you I'm quite upset over it myself. They came off of my 68 and I had no idea there was a difference. What is a set like that actually worth? They were in great shape for their age. Anyways we'll just have to tac on extra for the t-shirt....:banghead: Cuz I'm a dummy!!!

Can you at least post some more pics of your new find. That will make me feel better.

it looks like it was a twin to mine before my Dad wrecked it (long ago). Mine is a 70 first sold in june of 70...it was medium olive with (i think) the same interior and 350/350 combo. My dad bought it new from Giant Chevrolet in Visalia.

You sure are the man when it comes to sniffing out these jewels...

Yeah...dull,like the rest of the truck. If you can't find crusty old ones maybe you can dump battery acid on 'em or something that likes to eat metal. Maybe bead blast. There's an art to patina. So elegant in a crusty way

Another idea would be dull driver quality wheel covers with whitewalls. But,I suggest leaving the tires somewhere dogs will pee on them so they'll uh...yellow. HEY! I said there's an art to patina, didn't I??

You can leave it in my yard i'm sure my dogs would gladly take care of that for you  I will even make sure it gets driven ;)
