Stocker to Rocker (touch up build)

5 Attachment(s)
I have been lurking the website for some time and finally decided to jump in.Man there are so many talented folks here and a wealth of knowledge. Picked up a nice little stocker truck that a buddy of mine was ready to say goodbye to and I was more than happy to get my hands on it. Anyway I found some minor issues that have to be delt with so here we go. The truck has been painted now for about two years and I found some areas on the cab that needed attention as you will see in the photos.

As you can see there is some cracking of the paint on the corner of the cab to be able to repair this we are taking the bed off. Oh and the UPS guy stopped by with a couple of boxes while we have the bed off we are static lowering 4.5/6

Thanks for the comments.....Yes you gotta love how easy the manufactures make it nowadays to lower a truck.....I ordered wheels today I went with Billet Specialties and Toyos can't wait to get em in.

Now today on a search and destroy mission we found a small area with some orange so we are investigating a little further to see how far it goes I will keep you posted on the progress.....

Cool, I have mine down to just the rolling frame so I planned to do the springs and shocks then... I have never done one before so been looking on here and trying to find someone to help me locally. My father if his health was better could handle it but that just isn't possible.

Got the seam sealer deal done. Thanks though.;)

Can't wait to see how the wheels fit. I've got 18x8 and 20x10 Boss 338's waiting to put tires on. I'm going with 255/55's up front, and 305/50's out back. I learned my lesson with low profile tires in Louisiana--might as well just ride on the rims, lol.

Paint looks very nice. That is a beautiful truck. I noticed the gas tank was put under the bed. What did they do for the fuel filler?

Some of you may already know this but here's an easy way to clean your antenna a dremel tool , jewelers rouge, and aluminum wax.....
This antenna was really oxidized pretty bad but didn't need sanding down so I started out with a rouge for cutting, then one for polishing, I used the small cotton wheel for the dremel tool you can buy at your local hardware store. Finished it off with a nice coat of aluminum polish.....

I'd love to see more pics of your fuel filler setup. I've got a Blazer tank in my '68 but have no idea how I'm going to get go-juice in the thing. This looks like a pretty slick idea.

Basically its a steel box that was fabricated and welded together, theres a 2 1/2" round hole cut in the floor pan and on top of the box. Epoxy primed on the inside and mig welded into the floor pan added seam sealer around it before it was prepped and painted. The cap is a boat fuel filler and cap with a 8" sleeve that is hose clamped on to a 2 1/2" rubber filler hose. Pretty simple design some of the other guys on the board have run it thru the rear tailight housing. hope this helps ..... I will try and get some additional picture for you....
