66 Suburban from ID
1 Attachment(s)
Hey just bought this 66 suburban a few weeks back, it's got a 327/t350 combo, it needs some work but it's a nice driving project minus the bent rear wheels and and a couple small issues like fuel sending unit wipers not currently functioning, but couldn't breat the price I got it for, I plan on putting porterbuilt front and rear stuff on it and set it up to use big wheels and steel wheels and wide whites....but I need to get rid of the flames and orange wheels ASAP, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1358225119

Welcome to the forum :D
Are you up on Maple St? |
Re: 66 Suburban from ID
Thanks CaptainFab, I'm not really sure where maple is haha, I just moved back to cda area after being gone about 8 years, I actually live off of atlas and Hayden ave in Hayden, the burb is at a buddies body shop bein stored til all this weird white stuff goes away

Re: 66 Suburban from ID
Maple is the next road East of Gov't Way that runs North and South. That yellow house in the background just looks familar. My shop is off of Atlas about 2 miles South of Hayden Ave.
My poor Burb is outside covered in that white stuff. I'm hoping to drive it again this next summer......it's been 2 years Quote:

Re: 66 Suburban from ID
Oh yeah I know all about not getting to drive stuff, my last project tore it down and was 4years and sold it, and mines is parked in the back of a small body shop off of government way south of the papa Murphy's and Albertons, sounds like you a have a few cool projects, I originally was looking for a swb custom cab bw but couldn't pass this thing up, always loved em

Re: 66 Suburban from ID
I've seen that Suburban around town a few times, but I haven's seen it for a while. Do you think you will be driving it this summer?
|
Re: 66 Suburban from ID
It will def be cruising this summer, I drove it a few days after I bought it but the vibration from the bent rear wheels wasn't fun going about 45mph, I bought it from a guy in clark that got it in July, from what I found with paperwork in the glove box he got it from someone from hope, I remember seeing it on Craigslist a few years back or one like it.
What shop is yours? Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: 66 Suburban from ID
My shop is on Hern Ave, which is just south of Hanley. It's the big red building on the right.

Re: 66 Suburban from ID
Cool Burb! I don't know how I missed that one. You guys set a date and I'll show up for a meet. In the summer there are a bunch of older guys that meet at Burger Heaven out here in Rathdrum every Wednesday at 6. Not really my crowd but they are nice and everyone is welcome.

Re: 66 Suburban from ID
Also every Tuesday in the summer my friend DJ's at Shakeys Pizza in Spokane. There are some nice cars that show up every week there. It would be pretty cool to have a 4-5 truck group roll in there.

Re: 66 Suburban from ID
Sweet Burb! Sounds 99% complete to me! Hope you can bring it over to the Boise area for a car show or two in 2013! I have been dreaming for a long time of doing a 64-66 burb, no holds-barred, every trick in the book and then some... Love the interior on your rig! Keep us updated man! -JD

I take everything to Lake City. They don't call when it's done so you have to check back with them after a few days but thats ok.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1361057347 I think ill wait to powder coat the steel wheels, ran across some tires for my torq thrust 2's for super reasonable mounted and balanced, the bad part is the wheels don't clear the center bore so instead if using spacers I'm going to machine the wheel centers instead Posted via Mobile Device |

I don't think those are going to match yours. Send them out to me and I will see how they look on mine for some motivation to get it put together.
