I drove her for the first time last night. I still have a lot to get her to where I am satisfied but we are a lot closer now. I apparently did not paint the master cylinder good enough and the Eastwood stainless burned off the manifolds some. I want to get the exhaust redone in the back and have it exit behind the rear wheels instead.

Thanks guys. Here are a couple more pics. I had the shop put a 700r4 in it only to find out it has a 2.74 rearend gear according to the shop. So one of the first things on the list is a change of gears to a 3.73.

I know they are 20x8.5 and 20x10 but I would have to look at the tire. I bought them off of craigslist. I would like a little more sidewall upfront but $1500 for all 4 was too good to pass up. The tires are like new. They guy said back spacing was 4.5 and 5.

This burb is driving me crazy. I am having trouble getting fuel from the tank to the carb. I had the gas tank replaced with one from FuelCell Guy and the shop installed a rubber line from the tank to new hardlines running down the frame rail. I had installed a new fuel pump and even replaced it thinking that it may have been defective. It will run fine if I drop the gas line in a gas can but otherwise I am having problems. The rubber hose from the tank to the hard line had a kink in it and I fixed that and drove it once for about 15 minutes and then parked it for the night. It now will now not start again when hooked up to the tank it will only run from a gas can. The tank is vented and I have a vented gas cap. Any ideas? I would take it back to the shop but they are 80 miles away and it is a $200 tow bill. I am over budget as it is. I never really thought about how much harder it is to work on a lowered vehicle in a gravel driveway. I need to get this think going me and the wife have been carpooling for 3 months now. Argh....

If all rubber lines are new, problem might be inside tank. I would pull output line from pump and fire it up (gas already in carb) and check output. If the output volume is low I would remove gas cap and feed line from pump and blow back into tank and make sure line is clear. Sure sucks that you have to diagnois what you paid to have done!

I forgot to mention that I removed the hose from the pump and blew air back into the tank and you could hear the bubbling no problem. I am ready to drive this thing.

OK, now I gotta think and this hurts. I'll post again if I get another idea, but I would still do a flow volume test out of the pump

I had that problem with mine but for the life of me I can't remember what I did to fix it. It hasn't been that long ago either. I can remember blowing into the tank fill to put pressure on it while the wife turned it over and it would start and run then but after it set for a while it wouldn't start again. I'm thinking I put an electric pump back by the tank but I'm not 100% sure. It isn't here right now so I can't go out and look at it. Man, it's hell to get old...

How good of quality is the rubber line they installed? I've seen rubber line sucked shut and not allow fuel to be pulled through it. Maybe you can try a piece of fuel injection rated fuel hose and see if that helps it. By the way, sweet Burb!

I never thought of fuel line sucking closed but it's worth a try. Good thought Diesel. If this is the case that new fuel line must be terrible quality. I've also seen fuel line have a pin hole and suck air causing a symptom like this

I have been in contact with them and they have been very cooperative. I had taken the filter off Wed night and ran it without a filter to mark that off the list and it did not change things. At this point I had a fuel line in a gas can and it ran great. So last night I relaced the filter and little bit of rubber line and it fired up and I drove it around the block a couple of times. It got dark so I stopped messing with it after that since I do not have a garage. I am interested to see if it starts tonight when I get off work. It ran great Monday night and I ran it for probably 15 minutes while driving around but Tuesday it wouldn't start from the tank again. If it doesn't start tonight I am thinking the must be a hole in the line somewhere.

Swap the vent line and the fuel pickup line, maybe they hooked them up backwards....

Well I took it into a different shop this morning because I can not figure it out. The truck started Friday night no problem. I woke up Saturday and drove it into town which is about a 15 mile trip and everything went fine. I came home and drove the family all around the area by the house. It was doing great but on the way back it seemed like it was starving for fuel so I just parked it for the night. I get up the next morning and drive into town and it dies once I get into town. I changed the fuel line from the hard line to the new filter thinking it was too short and kinked. It fired back up and I drove home and when I was almost there it backfired. I got it home and parked it. Later in the day I decided to take it for a drive to see if it would act up. I drove it a few miles and it died a couple of times but would start back up. I took it back home and decided I would take it to a new shop Monday morning. I got up this morning and while driving into town it back fires so bad it blew out my brand new muffler. They are going to check it out and let me know what the find. Thery are going to put a fuel regulator on it so they can get a reading. When I changed the fuel line to the filter the fuel came flying out of the line like there was a ton of pressure.
