New Shop (finally)!
4 Attachment(s)
We recently moved so that I could build a shop & finally have all my trucks at 1 address & actually have room to work on them.
Construction started this week on a 30x50 with 12' ceilings, fully insulated, & will have a 30x40 concrete slab in front of the building, then a driveway to that. I am super excited & thought I'd share the progress! Delivery time... Attachment 1435412 Attachment 1435413 Attachment 1435414 Attachment 1435415 |

sweet,
are you building this or is a company doing it? I would like to have a shop and am thinking about one of those metal buildings... |

nice yard =0)

Re: New Shop (finally)!
yeayyy, less grass to mow!!! Build a couple more. Stop when you no longer need a mower, just a trimmer
|
Re: New Shop (finally)!

Congrats! Very nice. Can't wait to see more progress. BTW - The Tulsa area is where I grew up. My parents and a younger brother and his family still call it home.

Thanks guys!
Not much new to report yet - still waiting on the concrete company. They are backed up a little. Did get the dirt delivered. Pic of my blue truck in there gives an idea of how big it really is. Attachment 1440858 Attachment 1440862 TIGHT FIT!!! Attachment 1440859 Attachment 1440860 |
Re: New Shop (finally)!
Hope you don't have to use a shovel to spread that around!
Shop looks big. Good height too. Will you be getting a lift? Mine is the best tool I've ever purchased. My only regret is I didn't get it 10 years sooner. |

Yes, I plan on a lift for sure! I added some height to the building for this reason. |
Re: New Shop (finally)!
That's going to be a nice shop. Wish I could have started with that nice flat piece of property. Beautiful yard.
...Mine was a rocky cliff when I started. I've been going at it for almost a year and I'm no where near as far along as you are :( . I'm building in stages as I can afford it...NO DEBT. I do have concrete though  |
Re: New Shop (finally)!
Thanks nlped!
The flat lot is one of the things we liked about this house. |

Re: New Shop (finally)!
Very nice! I've got a 32x40x11.5 and love it. However with (4) vehicles and a boat I'm out of room.

Re: New Shop (finally)!
Looks great! New concrete is always exciting. We mark the pour dates in ours and it is always interesting to look back over the years.
Next up is...? |
Re: New Shop (finally)!
great looking shop,, we moved last year to "town" due to work. and I miss my shop building, I need to find more room to build !
|
Re: New Shop (finally)!
That looks great! If you don't mind sharing what is the rough cost per sq ft for that type of construction? What are your plans for the interior walls? Insulation and sheathing? I imagine some skylights would really help to brighten it up. Please keep the pictures coming. :metal:

I think before my upgrades it was around 10.50-11.00 per sqft. It is already insulated. I plan to do OSB panels on the walls. And then paint them. I like the idea of this better than sheet rock because I can screw it in so if I need access behind a panel I can remove it or replace a panel if ever needed. Also its stronger & makes mounting anything to the walls easy too. I did think about skylights but was a little worried about leaks over time so I plan to hang a lot of fluorescent lights. I am glad to have it to this point! |
Re: New Shop (finally)!
Very nice shop! I'm having the dirt work done for mine as we speak. I am using the same type construction, but just a little bigger (40'x50') and a little higher (16' walls). I am going to have them frame for 3 10' wide doors but only install one 14'x10' roll-up door for now, because I am running out of money. I can't wait to get to where you are at now.

Re: New Shop (finally)!
I remember standing on the slab of my 24'x24' after it was poured thinking "Wow, this is gonna be huge". Amazing how small it gets with walls put up. Looks good, Justin. I'm definitely jealous.
