Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
I was thinking it would be cool to get the AC working. Is there any chance of getting this system to work worth a poo?
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Looks like a York compressor for the AC which are pretty bullet proof and function well.
Nice score on the truck. It has a lot of character and looks to be very original. |
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Wow! You stole it at that price. Nice truck. :metal:
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Agree what a steal at 250$, wanna double your money? lol
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
That is a nice old truck for short money ,I like it .
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Damn! So bad! You know me and the early square K10s. I'm doing a np205 w/ 700r4 combo now. You should consider for every day stuff. Whats it have in it her for drivetrain? More pics!! Maybe start a build thread in the projects section??
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Thanks! Isn't this the project section? As far as drive train it's a 350/th350/203/d44/12bolt. This will act as my build thread.

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Good score! She's a time capsule. Don't you ha e a crew cab to turn 4x4?!? Glad I'm not the only one with the truck following me home problem...
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Lol yep I do. If I wouldn't have been able to get it for $250 bucks I would have kept focusing on the crew cab. Interestingly, I'm kinda thinking about finishing both builds, and then selling them off to do one "Ultimate build" on my suburban. Time will tell. If I do tho, you can rest assured the burb will be a insanely sweet. We're talking one ton axles, hydra boost, a late model direct injection 6.0 and 6 speed, full intetior/exterior resto, etc. Would be insane! I figure by the time the crew cab is done It will likely be able to sell for around $6500-$7500 or so and the k10 probably around $4500-$5500 or so so I would have somewhere around abouts of $10k plus as a starting point. These rest I can fund with extra money here and there. Just a thought for now.

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
I'm sure you could get good coin for both when you are done freshening up. Man I would have a hard time parting with that crew after all that sanding!!!
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Going to pick up a complete swap setup 465/205 combo for this truck tomorrow!
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
You really need a K5 blazer...
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Lol I have had a couple. Never really hit the spot the way all the other body styles do!
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Wouldn't that make a flush then? Suburban, crew cab, k10, dually...

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Nice score! Going back to the post about the horse and the hood, I had the same thing happen to me after I painted my '88. I thought the horse was just licking the paint but closer inspection revealed the damn thing had tried eating it and had removed paint from the hood and the fender. The owner asked why I didn't shoot the horse and I told him that it would have been his prize horse all of a sudden.:lol::lol:

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Ha! How crazy!
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
I picked up a set of original gm white spoke wheels or "styled wheels" as gm calls them. Going to drop them off at the powder coater next week and order tires next week also. I'm still just gathering stuff for it since I'm still finishing up my house renovations before I'm allowed to get back to the truck but as soon as house stuff is done it will be full steam ahead on this thing!

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Oh Yea, as far as tires, I'm going to run 32x11.50s. Should look pretty sweet! I really like the look of these cheap Chinese tires. All the reviews on them seem pretty positive so I'm going to give them a shot.

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
That'll look awesome. I really like those wheels and didn't realize they were a factory option.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Yep! Lots of folks weren't aware! Here is some fun brochure pics that show them.

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
I like the way you fixed the TH350 problem. Sub'd.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Lol thanks! I think it will be nice.

Other than the color, sliding rear window and chrome grill our trucks have the same options. I think the 350, 350 turbo and 3.07 gears are a nice combination. runs out nice on the highway.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
I had 32's on my 77 with the sm465. It was kinda a pig with 3.08's but great with 4.10's. Just add fuel. Remember these motors run high rpm's all day long in boats!

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Nothing major for the k10 but I did get the new center caps for it today!

Ordered tires today!

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Wheels and tires are going to look great. I just saw your 1 ton dually in the crew cab thread. You have found some smokin Craigslist deals! :metal:
Did you ever get the dually running? |
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Yes. It runs quite poorly. Really nit sure what the problem is but I haven't had time to properly mess with it.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Any updates? Did you get the tires and wheels on her? Also what is the Chinese brand tires? And is that a repro center cap or a NOS piece? Looks good man!
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Very nice, my 78 has that same AC system. I'm hoping to get mine working soon. I pretty much gave away a set of those styled wheels, didn't really know what I had until they were gone.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Still waiting to get the wheels back from powder coat. The center caps are just reproduction from classic parts. They look really good.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Wheels back from powder coat! Going to have them mounted up tomorrow!

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Wow those look awesome. What'd it run you if you don't mind me asking? My rattle can job is already chipping on my '91.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
$75 per wheel. I'm curious to see how the powder holds up.
|
Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.
Looks great! What did the tires run you?
