WTB 2 wheel drive blazer

I haven't been around in a while. I had done an LS swapped GMC Jimmy some years ago. I had documented most of the build and hope I helped some with my pictures and build.

I have always wanted a rust free 2 wheel drive blazer. My perfect vehicle would be a 1968 front clipped LS swapped 1972 2 wheel drive blazer. Honestly I know that is a unicorn and will most likely be out of my budget anyway.

I have been through the whole rust thing and am physically unable to do it again so it must be either original rust free or restored to rust free. I prefer 2 wheel drive but would consider any 4 X 4 in great shape.

I really want a factory AC Blazer but again if all the boxes are checked I will consider anything rust free and in really nice shape.

NO OCHRE, already had one. Although again the right vehicle for the right price and I will consider anything. I have a decent budget ($30-40,000+) but I expect to have more cash in the coming year? I am willing to travel but will fly or drive out to look at anything that looks like the real deal.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Mark

I don't understand people, you think willing to sell to you but maybe he thinks he can get more on eBay. That could backfire on him

Re: WTB 2 wheel drive blazer

Last night he texted me some more pictures and raised his price to $38,000 and doesn't have a rear seat?

I texted him back that he originally asked $35K and he had some weird excuse. Then asked what it would take to buy it. I told him I would have to see it in person (540 miles away) before offering anything. I am thinking of driving down in the next week or two?

I’d have a hard time paying 3x,xxx for a shiny truck with a chassis like that.

He's fishing... anyone that puts $1 on an ad is a game player. I would recommend using the community here to see if you can get some close by to check it out for you.
I don't know about the value of these but there are no pics of the engine or interior. The under side pics you posted don't go with the rest of the truck. Greasy and oily underneath for $38k? I would expect frame off for that kind of coin. Caveat Emptor

Another weird mirror one? I don't want a hard top and actually have one. I like the soft topper. And the 1968 front clip is a big plus for me.

Here is a picture from that blue one. Something is a little funky where the fuel fill and vent lines go through the floor? Also lists leaf spring rear with C notch. I don't think it is a factory 2 wheel drive, wrong doors and door panels. Has a 454 and would prefer a small block or LS.

The orange one sent me more pictures but they were nothing special? If I went to look at it and it was perfect body wise and that undercarriage I would most likely offer $25-30,000!

I agree but I only have $30-35,000 on hand. He wouldn't accept that I am sure. I could possibly go as high as $40-42,000 but I wouldn't even have any left to ship it.

I have a mint 2000 Mercedes SL500 I have been trying to sell which would give me another $10-15,000 (probably closer to 10-12K)

I do appreciate all the help everyone. I am planning on spending a decent amount of cash so I want what I want. Compare that one above with the black one for $47,000 that is an actual 2 WD.

I posted that link on the first page. I am in contact with him and it is on my short list at the moment but think it is not quite worth $47,000. I got him to send more pictures and the stainless steel and brass or bronze (not sure the actual name but helps against flex) are missing from the top of the doors and door frame. I sure wish he was closer as air fare and shipping would add $1-2,000 to the cost.

Again I am really appreciative of all the links and suggestions.

Great price but I couldn't live with that color?

I can live with black if its not all scratched and swirls. My 2012 truck is Black and my first Jimmy was black. Its a lot of work but boy can it look great, for 15 minutes. Ochre is my only real definite no.

Just got off the phone with him, he never did get a 68 front clip. And he was only going to sell if he got a triple black 66 Corvette which fell through so he's keeping

Thanks, that is the one posted in the second post with no back seat and greasy undercarriage. Looks nice but not $35,000 nice. Still looking and searching daily. My budget has increased a little and I have enough to buy something really nice. Not $80-100,000 nice but I think I can get something very nice for what I have.

Thanks again for all the links and discussion. I appreciate the help. Please keep them coming.
