Stolen last night
1990 GMC Sierra
http://i64.tinypic.com/wmiba.jpg Some POS stole my son's truck last night. Camden, Arkansas police department has been notified. Probably not gonna see it, but if anyone does please let me know. Thanks. |

Re: Stolen last night
Stolen cars is an epidemic. The town I grew up in has 100k people. Almost 900 car thefts reported last year. Most of the perpetrators that were caught were juveniles. No fear no respect.

Re: Stolen last night
Seems like there is a lot of crime in Camden for a small town. I guess poverty is a driving force on that. When I first went there in about 1988, I think the population was 30k and had a thriving downtown. Now it's what 11k and nothing but wallymart?
|
Re: Stolen last night
Many businesses that were here in 1988 are gone and many more thieving crackheads are around now. It's not just here.

Re: Stolen last night
Hate to hear that my friend. One of my good friends had his truck stolen last year in West Little Rock. They found it 2 weeks later in Russellville...thrashed all to hell.
I put a GPS tracker on my son's C10. Simple to put on and easy to hide. Ill keep my eyes peeled up here in White County. Bubba |
Re: Stolen last night
Thanks Chief.

Re: Stolen last night
I work in Helena. We need to go back to hanging thieves and politicians and these little towns would clean up pretty quick.
|
Re: Stolen last night
I agree.

Laws are written to protect thieves because the politicians recognize their own kind. |

I remember back when I had my '68 C10, there weren't many products out there. "The Snitch" (GPS Snitch?) I think was the big one but I swear it it was like $20/mo+ to pay for the data connection to let it report back to you. I couldn't afford it! The units have gotten tiny as can be! Small enough to throw inside the seat tube of a bike, in a rear ashtray, in the glovebox, anywhere. Incredible. @Gotenntitans I really hope the truck comes back in the same condition you lost it. I've had so many friends get their vehicles stripped down to nothing. Granted, I'm in the city so ... with more human density comes more crimes and more opportunity, but still.... |
Re: Stolen last night
Thanks shifty. I'm thinking about a tracking unit for our 87. It was parked beside the 90 that got stolen. The thieves know it's there!
|
Re: Stolen last night
That's a very nice looking truck, Hope you get it back in good shape, my '92 has been stolen twice, (I'm in Memphis), but the crooks never got it out of my neighborhood because a fuel pump kill switch kept it from starting. But they always punch the door and break the steering column, which are getting harder to find for a '92. Even with the kill switch, Viper alarm, Club, and a column guard, the punks will still try.

Re: Stolen last night
If we get it back, we're gonna put some devices on it to prevent this from happening again.

Re: Stolen last night
Lower life forms like thieves generally are likely to be armed with something quiet. Guns attract attention in town because they're noisy. Knives are easy to conceal and comparatively quiet. Guns cost significantly more than knives. And. It's a lot less time in prison for possession of a knife in the commission of a crime.
The .357 is to keep you from getting stabbed or shot if the thief is crazy enough to be armed with a pistol. A double bitted felling axe would likely be fairly effective. I keep one over my front and back doors. Carefully conceal a pistol in case they are armed with artillery and use the axe as an instrument of terror. They aren't going to like being the guy that brought a knife to an axe fight. You want them to be terrified of you and figure you're 3/5ths crazy. The guy with a big two edged axe chasing them down the street ought to instill that kind of terror. Motion sensors with some kind of alarm inside along with disabling important electrical bits to slow em down would be worthwhile. |
Re: Stolen last night
why i have better preventative measures in my ride steer lock and few other stall tactics.
sorry to hear your ride got stolen, always good idea to throw in a gps locator hidden in cab. |

Cops haven't updated us since Thursday. They said then that they felt confident they would find it, but most likely minus some things.....maybe more or less things. The tires were worn down bad, but those rims are only a couple of years old and are near perfect. Some A.H. is probably riding on them somewhere tonight! |
Re: Stolen last night
Still got my fingers crossed for you, brother!

Re: Stolen last night
Thanks, Man. We've not given up hope yet. Between the police and the 1500+ Facebook people who are looking for it, if it is still around here and comes out into the daylight someone will see it. My son is a sophomore at Southern Arkansas University and I think half the students at college have shared it on Facebook so the knowledge that it's been stolen and several pictures of it are out there. It's a distinctive truck. I have never seen another white & black one like it. We call it the "Milk Cow."

Re: Stolen last night
Really hate to hear. Hope y’all are able to retrieve it in good condition. My dad’s 66 C-10 chop top cab was stolen from his driveway several years ago. It just happened to be covered & sitting on my dad’s car trailer, & they took the trailer. At the time, several other trailers in the area were also stolen. Unfortunately, neither the trailer or cab has been seen since. To make things worse, he had just moved the cab from a friend’s shop a few weeks before, where it had been stored for 20+ years. Wishing you the best!

Re: Stolen last night
Thanks. Sorry to hear of your lost one. Too many people today thinking it's OK to steal as long as you don't get caught. AND too many people who know things, but won't tell because they don't want to "snitch."
|
Re: Stolen last night
Got Facebook tips today from two different people stating that they were 100% positive that they saw it cruising in plain sight in a town about 40 miles away. Police have been notified. Hoping for good news soon! We want our Milk Cow back!!!

Re: Stolen last night

Re: Stolen last night
Nothing yet. It was seen yesterday around 5:30-6:00 p.m. Hoping the same thing happens again today.

No new leads and no more sightings. Still hoping it turns up and hasn't been chopped, wrecked, or trashed out.

Pagan Arabia. Don't include Israel in your definition of the Middle East where it comes to what would be defined in the United States as "cruel and unusual punishment". It isn't fingers. It is a hand on one arm, and the foot of the opposite leg, of a living, non-sedated individual, with the result that the person probably dies from the injuries inflicted. In the case of their lovely prophet, the story goes that some people came to mohamed complaining that the weather wasn't agreeable to them. Mohamed told them to drink camel urine and camel milk. (Personally I think Mohamed wanted to poison them to get their booty.) When the people realized that they weren't getting any better, they left with camels to get away from the nut-case advise that was making them sick. Mohamed, in his rage, ordered them brought back, and then not only cut off the limbs of the ones who had left with the camels, he also took red-hot nails and shoved them into the eyes of at least one of those who had taken the camels to escape the "prophet" who probably had syphilitic insanity. Happy Ramadan. |

Theft is darn close to non-existent in much of the Arab world for that reason. It's Shariah law so it's definitely used in Iran and Saudi Arabia. I wouldn't test it in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq. Shariah does not allow this punishment when food is stolen. As with Jewish law the preservation of life takes precedence over other laws. I found this on the web. Take it with a grain of salt. If you're a Westerner I would bet they are far more strict. In order for the limb amputation to be applied, thes conditions must be fulfilled : "1. The thing should have been taken by stealth; if it was not taken by stealth, then the hand should not be cut off, such as when property has been seized by force in front of other people, because in this case the owner of the property could have asked for help to stop the thief. 2. The stolen property should be something of worth, because that which is of no worth has no sanctity, such as musical instruments, wine, and pigs. 3. The value of the stolen property should be above a certain limit, which is three Islamic Dirhams or a quarter of an Islamic Dinar, or their equivalent in other currencies. 4. The stolen property should have been taken from a place where it had been put away, i.e., a place where people usually put their property, such as a cupboard, for example. 5. The theft itself has to be proven, either by the testimony of two qualified witnesses or by the confession of the thief twice. 6. The person from whom the property was stolen has to ask for it back; if he does not, then (the thief’s) hand does not have to be cut off. If these conditions are fulfilled, then the hand must be cut off." I disagree with basing laws on religious fanaticism but this seems to work. The pillory did as well. |
