Emma-Jayne: My '79 SWB
5 Attachment(s)
Bought this truck to build a twin to my stepside. Have a quest to own four trucks that are all the same color. Just missing a K-5 and a dually now.
She had a new 350 Target motor just installed about 1500 miles prior to purchase and has a 700r4 that has 5k miles on it. Stock suspension, started out with saddle interior and some ugly tan wheels. Plans: -Fix leaks (already completed trans pan and kick down cable leaks). -Get rid of rust *In process. -New moldings -Color match to my stepside Audrey -Give her Audreys original old Mandarin interior with some fresh dye and touch ups -Install the original factory tach cluster from Audrey -Install Audrey's 12 bolt 342 shortened rear end with new moser axles. -Lower with ????? (still deciding) -Run the American Racing Rally's I have for time being. -Smoothed and painted bumpers (brushed nickel look). -Trim painted in brushed nickel look. |

Very nice, you are making fast progress. Love the color! Looks like dark camel, but at least in the pictures it seems a shade darker than mine.

Bumper brackets were repainted. New front and rear bumpers installed. Repainted the drivers side inner wheel well. Repainted the front air dam. Put in the dash, headliner, LED cargo light and a couple trim pieces. Still waiting on more dye before I can install door panels and arm rests. Need some dynamatting for the floor as well. Interior should be done next go around though, which just leaves bed liner and some other misc things that the shop to do with the body/paint like adjust hood alignment and clean it up for final delivery back to me. They moved on to other projects while I've been doing my own stuff to it. |

Got the rear spacers swapped out today which allowed me to out the caps on the rear wheels.
Buttoned down the dash, visors in, rest of the headliner trim is in, and gauge bezel is mocked up....gotta figure out why my Factory Tach isn't working. Also got wheel lip moldings on and pulled outside for a quick look in at it in the sunlight. I still have to wait for the shop to finish their final cut and buff on the paint, and touch up the alignment on the hood and doors. |
