72 flint built truck looks like a v8 custom deluxe with cargo light, ac, rust free tool and stowage door, with very minor rust below the door. Straight tailgate, interior all there nice hood. The truck looks 95% complete just in prices. Was originally white roof over Hawaiian blue with the belt molding trim atleast. Wood bed floor. It’s at a junkyard near my house and the looking to sell complete before parting out. The inner and outer grill is in excellent shape as well. Did I mention no rust I could see anywhere except a few small bubbles immediately below the tool box door? It’s been repainted but the paint and body work look pretty decent and I think would cut and buff pretty nice. If it does end up going for parts I’m going be buying a lot of stuff.

Price is 3K pm me if interested. I would buy it but just don’t have the resources right now. It’s exceptionally straight and looks very rust free. Cluster and glove box door are on the seat. |

That would make a nice truck with just a bit of work and some $$$. If I were closer and needed another project that would be a perfect candidate. Looks like it would save someone looking for a nice truck at least $3K in body work.

After a moment of shock, my wife took the news pretty well. I just won't count on any father's day presents. As so many have done before, I'll try to keep up on the update posts. Thankful to everyone here for all the great advice! |

Sad part is there proubly someone who spent years trying to buy this truck the owner passed the kids or the grandkids gave the yard the truck for free to get rid of it
I asked about a 50s gmc over 30 years old fella I am going to rebuild that said the same thing in his 90s grandkids scrapped everything |

Now that my white GMC is running cool, I can keep her as is.
Big Blue will definitely get an LS conversion. It will be a first for me, so I am open to suggestions. :chevy: |

Congrats on the "new" truck. Good decision on the LS swap. I am nearing the later stages of my swap into my '71 lwb. Hop on over to the 'LSx Swap" forum and read up.
Since you have a factory air truck, I highly recommend you keep the LS low mount a/c compressor. Use the Hooker Blackheart mounts and cross member and your compressor will clear the frame easily and the engine/trans will retain proper driveline angles. Plus, no modification to the mounts or a/c bracket. I also am changing to a more modern accumulator/orifice tube a/c system to work better with cycling a/c compressor. I am controlling the compressor through the ECM. I also highly suggest you buy an entire running vehicle as a donor for the swap. It is amazing how many parts you can scavenge from the donor. My build will cost just under $4k with me doing all the work. Large $ chunks are for specialty items like a $315 analog speedometer drive...I'm keeping my '71 gauges. |

David, my boy is putting an LS in his 68 and having problems with the ac compressor clearing. The motor already had conversion mounts on it when we got it that have two possible positions. I would love to be able to leave the compressor down low. Can you post a link of the mounts that make this possible? |

AWESOME! I tried to get back up there for more pictures on Thursday and yesterday both but my schedule didn’t permit it. Glad you found a good reliable way to get it coming your way! I hope you like it in person as much as I did when I was looking it over!

Got two used tires so I could get him up on his feet and rolled off the trailer. Steering was tight and the brakes actually work well.
Overall assessment is as advertised. The cab corners are clean. No rust and no repairs there. There was some bondo up front from some sort of previous impact but the frame rails are straight. The roof drip rail is original and incredible. Wood on the Bed is original and rotted but the metal channels are great. The seat is strangely in great shape, so it must be a recover. Damnit that grill was going to look soo good on my K20 too! Glad you are happy with it, I knew that one was a hell of a truck all things considered. I can’t wait to see what you make it into! It’s all proof that even though they are getting harder to find, clean minimal rust trucks are still around.
