How many of our trucks have you seen today?

I was riding with a friend so I had a chance to look around. We saw 3 on the streets and 4 in peoples yards...

dion 02-06-2004 12:40 AM

I see on average 4 a day

jhow66 02-06-2004 12:42 AM

Mine and my brother-in-laws 72 thats in my basement.

72 CustomCamper 02-06-2004 12:44 AM

I know where at least 4 sit at any given time. The first one we saw today was sweet looking. 72 straight body looked like it could of been original paint. It did have the dealer name plate from a dealer that hasen't been in town for quite some time...

BtnkBndt 02-06-2004 01:00 AM

Drive a few miles through DFW, you'll loose count quick.:)

bad 71 chevy 02-06-2004 01:02 AM

junkyardjohn 02-06-2004 01:06 AM

:bowtie:

I SEE 30 TO 40 EVERYDAY.:D :D JOHN

1969 GMC 02-06-2004 01:49 AM

today i saw just one (mine), but it depends on where I am going and what time of day it is. there arent too many around here at all. i have found a '71 GMC K/2500 in the town where I work, a 67-68 2wd 'burb buried in some weeds on a back road of the same town, a 67 shorty (rusted bad) close by my house, a rust free texas '72 GMC C/1500 longstep, and a 67-68 K/20 that is by a junkyard, but its only there at night:confused: thats about all I have seen in my almost a year of owning my truck

71chevylongbed 02-06-2004 02:03 AM

i usually see around 3-5 a day on the road. about an hours drive from my house there are about 40 lined up by the side of the road in a field

Russell 02-06-2004 02:32 AM

I see maybe one every couple of weeks... Usually rusted beyond reconition too... Only ever seen three up close, one was a nice towtruck, one was a truck that could have been mine for 800 bucks, and one that is in immaculate condition (full frame off last year)

veltex 02-06-2004 02:46 AM

they are everywhere here, but I drive alot

spencra 02-06-2004 02:50 AM

Other than mine I know of 1 other pickup in my town a 67 or 68, and a 71 or 72 blazer sitting in somebodies front yard which I have dibs on if the owner decides to sell.

These types are very rare in the northeast. :(

Oh yeah, and an occasional one on my junkyard trips.

dtlilly 02-06-2004 03:10 AM

I echo the "there everywhere". I'm picky now, and only notice the rear nice ones or heavily optioned ones.

Super Chevy 02-06-2004 05:13 AM

theres about 10 total in my town parked , once a month i might see one on the street but its usually totally gone rust wise

A.P. 02-06-2004 05:28 AM

I saw about 5 today on my way to work.

CPNEJR 02-06-2004 08:40 AM

too bad we don't live wehere there are alot of our trucks around:( The only people that have trucks like ours is my brothers friend and he has one:confused: and we have too many apart:eek:

Tx Firefighter 02-06-2004 08:44 AM

I see probably 20 to 30 every time I drive to work and back. These are drivers, not parked somewhere. They're very common here.

racedvl 02-06-2004 10:16 AM

If I look in my garage. . . . 1

spencra 02-06-2004 10:34 AM

I'm jealous of you west coasters. I'm thinking of flying out to San Diego later this year and I swear I'm driving back.;)

Beefcake 02-06-2004 10:48 AM

I see about "0" other than my own. If I drive for about 30 miles, Ill find another nut like us. Most people around here have more money than brains, so they buy new. Thats fine though, makes my truck more of a rarity.

:gmc:

smokekiki 02-06-2004 11:29 AM

Not very many around here.I see 4 without leaving home. You might pass 1 a week on the road.

Dean 02-06-2004 11:34 AM

I usually see zero

sactoC10 02-06-2004 12:20 PM

CPNEJR, after living two years in Manchester NH (having left California) you may understand why I couldn't wait to move back!

I see about 10-15 any given day when I'm not paying attention, probably 10 of those on the road. On days when I am looking for them, I'll easily find 20+.

Bill72BB 02-06-2004 12:54 PM

I average seeing about 5-6 a day , going to San Pedro this AM there is a shop their that has a Tow truck in our year and still in use .

I've put 10 miles on this one since November (5 forward, 5 reverse - I guess that's zeros miles)

spencra 02-06-2004 01:15 PM

CPNE 02-06-2004 01:16 PM

Seriously, other than my collection, there is only one other on the road in a 50 mile radius around here.

I did see a 64-66 lwb 2wd pulling a snowmobile trailer a couple of weeks ago. Damn fool should have be shot with all the salt on the roads around here.

spencra 02-06-2004 01:23 PM

Salt? What's salt?

Oh yeah, isn't that the white powdery stuff that covers our trucks and makes them appear whitish grey in color. I was starting to think that that was the color of my vehicles because I haven't seen the original color since November.

67Fleetsidedream 02-06-2004 03:25 PM

I saw 3 in the 35min on the way to work. The first one I saw was dark green going north on I35.

lukecp 02-06-2004 03:39 PM

I haven't seen any :whine:

Of course i haven't drove my truck since Tuesday, lol.

I seem to be seeing less and less every year now. But the ones i see are usually pretty nice. Back home i see quite a few, and most are fixed up, and very few still have stock motors. They seem to be pretty popular hot rods in my area.....of course that is what i am slowly doing to mine, lol.

There are alot in junkyards around here, but few good parts. Most are wrecked, rusted, or picked clean through.

TsgtE662 02-06-2004 03:43 PM

I normally see atleast one on my way to/from work. It just so happens to be on the normal route to work. Coming home though I sometimes take a diff route and there is a 69 GMC thats looks pretty decent. Another 69/70 Chevy C10 is sometimes at its home on the way also, young guy drives it. I know of two decent looking GMCs that have been parked for quite a while near my house. And several in the area that I occasionally see runnin around. One Orange/White 71 going in the opposite way on the highway as me going home from work that looks decent also. A friend recently sold his 68 C10 prior to PCSing to a new base for $500. There are 2 nice 63-66's I sometimes see on base here, one red/white and the other was recently sold by a Colonel that had the 305 V-6 and was pretty nice.
Always looking out for'em.

Blue Beard 02-06-2004 03:45 PM

12-14 daily...........biggest part of them daily drivers.........

1968GMC 02-06-2004 04:13 PM

last time i seen one was about 3 =4 month ago

GMan69 02-06-2004 08:38 PM

On my way home from work today, I saw an awesome '67-'68 short bed fleetside. Solid yellow, lowered front and rear, no bumpers, sitting on a trailer. Not too far from the house. I'll take the camera with me tomorrow and take a pic. Perhaps meet a board member, who knows.:bowtie:

I went to play some cards yesterday at a near by casino. My buddy drove so I got to be a passenger for a change. In a three block stretch I saw 10 or so. Most days I see 2 or 3 dozen 67-72. I have my eye on a 72 Cheyenne Super, 402, tilt, tach, air, factory buckets / console etc. that is for sale for $2500. These trucks are all over this area. :D :bowtie: :D

FRENCHBLUE72 02-06-2004 10:20 PM

3 counting my 2 in my driveway and there was one behind me at the light...

Orange70chevy 02-06-2004 10:37 PM

I read electric meters sometimes when I am out in the rural areas I see quite a few out in fields and in yards. Today I seen a 71 SWB 4x4 in a driveway it was pretty beat up. I also seen a 70-72 GMC LWB in a cow pasture I got close up to it looked good it was pretty stright little rust on the rockers. And I see mine in the driveway everyday. :bowtie:

67cst 02-06-2004 11:40 PM

i dont even count them around here, if i count its just shortboxes, if you dig deep back into the archives there will be a thread i started with local trucks, that are all about 5 min drive from my house, i think there was at least 40
