Swapping PCM

I ordered a tuned PCM for my '07 Silverado 1500(Classic) 4WD, 5.3. While it was in transit, I purchased a '06 Silverado 2WD, 5.3.

Will the one I ordered for the '07 Classic work in the '06? I realize I will have to have a crank relearn done since the PCM I ordered is not original to either one of the trucks. I have not yet tried to install it in either one.
Thanks!

Re: Swapping PCM

yes should work, should not need to relearn anything. plug and play. I have boxes of these and i have swapped them interchangeably 2wd to 4wd and vise versa. I usually make sure that the service numbers on the stickers are the same, but even when they are not, never had any issues.

Re: Swapping PCM

I know Louisiana has some emissions testing, if you have obd testing, it will fail if the vin in the pcm doesn’t match the vin of the vehicle. You can swap back to the original pcm a week or two before your test. Just something to remember.
