I'm guessing some were. I've seen a few used as drill rigs and for brush type fire fighting.

I really enjoy my Silver Books, too. A lot of power companies ordered the 4x and 6x conversions. My power company has always ran and still runs converted GMCs. And I've always gotten a kick out of that

I’ mostly into 72’s.
Therefore I only have the 1972 Silver Book.
Which is where my pictures are coming from.
