Dare to be different!
There’s one like that here on the Island.
A nicer looking box in my opinion.

Cute! Put a 400/400 and AC (and maybe change out the rear axle ratio) in it and I'd use it to pull my travel trailer. It's funny- the AC has been inoperative in our truck since before we inherited it from my FiL. My wife didn't remember that it had AC. So maybe don't need to ad AC?

It'll be interesting to see what this critter sells for. They mention body work shrinkage in the ad. That's going to be interesting to see.

That’s what happens when we get older
We don’t remember things:dohh:
I’ve got several trucks with a/c
None of them work !
And probably haven’t since the 80’s

Would like to see a longhorn bed-
lose the silly bowtie on the back of the cab
would like to see the step extended to the rear wheel

Chevyland 09-20-2019 11:52 PM

Re: Anybody ?

Agreed
I bet the auction truck is a Longhorn bed filled at the seam ?
Definitely would look nice with the step extended
And the bow tie as well as the ‘chevy’
On the tail gate could go

What year do you think the cab is ?
Are 72 c50 small back windows cabs ??
Or is the cab just bigger
And
The window looks small???

Re: Anybody ?

I believe the small window on the heavy trucks carried on into the square bodies.

That's a '72. I think it's chunky cute and all that. Not really daring to be different. Most everybody has dreamed one of these up I'd think. I've been seeing them built for many years. I think they look neat, but when it comes down to it they aren't real useful much and it's not a nice ride. They sit too high for a 5th wheel, so better off with a C/30 dually for that. I'd love to have a short 67-72 C/40-C60, but it would be something they were made to be like a wrecker, utility body, dump truck, or I'd really like one with a 5th wheel and have an assortment of trailers

I'd take this to the cruise-in

I will say I really like it overall, couple little things I would change it if were mine.

Wonder what it will bring?

How cool is that !
It’s hard for me to tell
?But I think you are saying you built the truck that is now being auctioned off ?
How long ago did you build it ?
Must be bittersweet seeing it at auction
One of my buddies forwarded the link to me
He loved it

It was 5 or more years ago I sold it. Started off as a very long box truck.
I kept it drum brakes and stock suspension and never liked the way it road.
I was glad to see that someone had put 30K miles on it since I sold it.

My next one is 4 wheel disk brakes with a softer suspension and this time AC. I cut the gutter off the firewall and then smoothed it. I deleted the dash pad and double din was graphed in along with AC vents. Rear fenders are really front C50 fenders graphed into the standard long bed.

It will be interesting to see what it goes for at Auction.

If it goes for enough money you may need to auction this one off 😄

Still nice truck and cool to be different. Let us know how much it sells for.

It had power brakes, that bumper was straight when I sold it 5 years ago.

I think I remember seeing a build thread on your latest project? Am I mistaken? I've never seen rear wheels like that before... Is it a dually axle with a single rim? One thing is for sure... it's a beast of a truck!

Re: Anybody ?

The one thing that bothers me is the rear bumper is not straight. All that work and yet it you could not get the rear bumper strait.

Builder above noted that it was straight when he sold it. Current owner must of bumped it or something lol.

This 1972 Chevy K50 crew cab started off as a C50 standard cab. With a custom third and fourth door, as well as the sunroof, bumpers, running boards, tilt bed, and designed central heat and A/C makes this build an award winning truck.

The 12V Cummins gives a remarkable soft ride considering it sits on 40" Nitto Trail Grapplers.

The highlander plaid is the first item that catches the eye in the sharp looking custom interior, followed by the leather wrapped steering wheel and double din dash.

The Duke is one of the most recognizable trucks today and here at Rtech Fabrications we continue to "Build Trucks to do Truck Things".
