Hey, just getting started on a build of a '70 Long bed stepside. What exactly is the advantage of using this setup?

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

The purpose of my '67-'72 brake booster bracket is to get the booster and master cylinder closer to the firewall instead of hanging way out there. You do not have to use a newer booster if you don't want to. The '67-'70 is one of the compatable boosters. But if you are going to upgrade to front disc brakes, that would not be the one that I would choose. If you do go with a newer brake booster, you can find one in just about any wrecking yard or parts store.

2 Attachment(s)
I have 2 of these '67-'72 booster brackets that are zinc plated. The price is the same as the powder coated version which is $61.50 plus $11.65 for shipping.

Does this set up work for disk/disk? I want to use the same power booster as all of you are talking about. I am running a ls5.3. w/ a 4l60e.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

This booster bracket will work for all types of braking systems. You will just need to use a master cylinder and prop valve for a disc/disc system with the booster that you select. Some guys recommend a dual diaphram for a disc/disc system.

Getting ready to install a setup on my 70 LB stepside. I'll post pics as I get it done and let everyone know how the conversion goes. Got my brackets from Captainfab for the Impala rear disc setup and the booter bracket as well. It's 4 wheel manual drum now. Got a pair of 2 1/2" drop spindles that'll be here tomorrow. Gonna use a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve.

What would the cost for zinc plated shipped to 77095?

What would the cost for bare steel shipped to 77095?

Thanks

I have a i6 250 and have read that I will need an offset breather if I go with a booster. If I use your bracket will my factory breather clear.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I haven't received any feedback nor any personal experience with a I6 and my booster bracket. I made some measurements and I think that if you used a 9" diameter booster, it would fit with your stock air cleaner. If you have power steering, you could always go hydroboost.

Do you have this bracket with a hydraulic clutch bracket?

Captainfab 10-15-2014 08:22 PM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

You must not have received the PM I sent you last night?

Yes I do make a hydraulic clutch conversion for the '67-'72 trucks. I do not have a pic of it on this computer. I can get a pic tomorrow when I am at my shop. It is basically the same as what I make for the '60-'62's and '63-'66's. The price is the same as well.
