1965 60

I have access to this C60. It is in relatively rust/dent free shape. It is complete, the engine has not run in almost 10 years and has been sitting in this same spot for at least that long.

We are kicking around the idea of getting it, but I don't really like the style/type of wheels it has. I would prefer a standard 22.5" semi wheel on it and possibly run a super single in the rear.

What do you call this style wheel? Can they be swapped to a newer style 10 lug hub? Is there a write up on that?

Thanks for any input you guys can give me.

Oh, it was a 292 6cyl originally, but currently it has a 350 that my cousin swapped into it years ago. It was a city boom truck back then when he worked on it. It has a 4 speed with a single speed rear end.

They are called Spoke Wheels, also known as Dayton's, and are preferred by many of us myself included, lol. Not sure about any swaps though, but someone should be jumping in soon to help.

Truck looks good, by the way.

It's even got a disc brake rear!! LOL. I like the Daytons myself. Plus if you're looking for a set of 22.5's I believe they will fit on those hubs. Cool truck.

Nothing wrong with cast spoke,[Dayton style] wheels with tube type tires. You can put tubeless 22.5 rims on those spoke hubs.

I have a 27 thousand mile[65model] C60 that I would love to have that hood and grille that is bent from a wreck. The power steering stuff is awesome too. Mine had been in barn its whole life until I got it almost zero even surface rust. the dump still works like it should. jim

Actually it is not in East Texas, my cousin lives in the Hill Country down around you. It's over in Fredericksburg...

Like c-10-90 Bill said, each to his own, but I don't like the Daytons either. They can be swapped, but it's costly. Here's one thread about it:

I'm sure you can find others by a google search: "Swap Dayton wheels to Budd wheels"
