Here is my two.
Pic 1= 1970 GMC Sierra Grande Longhorn, 3/4 ton, 402 BB. This truck has been my rebuild for about 12 years now. It is made up of parts from members all over the Board and the United States.
Pic 2, 3 are my 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne Super 1 ton Longhorn with 402 BB, everything is original and it has allmost everything that it came with except the original Bucket Seats and upper body trim. The Hood was damaged by a 65 mile an hour wind pushing a yard trampleen through the air, it left a 6 inch dent in the hood, so I replaced it. Thank goodness that is all it hit. This truck was modified at the dealer here in town and made into the delivery truck for Arrowhead and the seats were swapped out of another truck when originally purchased along with the upper body trim removed. I am the third owner and this truck has been in the desert its whole life. Fifth wheel option was added by second owner.
Pic 4= is both together
Pic 5= 1972 SPID sheet.
Enjoy!

I don't think it's factory ,I posted that question on here before and most of the guys didn't think it was. here is what the interior looks like. the glove box door, seat belt retractor and the door panels are the same burgundy colour as the outside colour. What do you think?

Some forum members around SLC have seen mine because I use it a lot. It is all original except with newish paint. Going to redo the interior and engine bay this spring.

This was at Bonneville last August during speed week. We saw the speed demon go by at 448 mph!!!

Re: lets see some longhorns

Very nice. I keep seeing campers that don't go to the front of the bed. That always seems odd to me when that's why these trucks were designed. Maybe that camper is pre-70?

special-K 02-14-2012 07:29 PM

Re: lets see some longhorns

I always thought it was strange that Longhorns were built for campers, since that meant all the camper companies would have to make a special camper just for Longhorns when the standard C/20s took the same camper as Ford,Dodge, and International. I guess GM was hoping to create a new market between C/30 frame-mounts and 8' slide-ins. But,just six more inches? That's not a noticeably bigger camper. Not knocking Longhorns cuz I think they're really cool and unique, for sure.

I always thought a long the same lines as you Tim. Thought it was weird it was only 6" and not say 12". But who knows.
