Wheels, Tires and Engine Issues
I have a 1981 C10, single cab long bed with a Goodwrench 350 crate engine (installed sometime in the 80s; family didn't know it was swapped in and thought it was factory when they sold it to me).
So I'm looking at getting these wheels http://www.bbwheelsonline.com/toxic-...30621250N51MB/ Along with these tires http://www.bbwheelsonline.com/lexani...LXST202025040/ I'm planning on pumping the fenders or making a wide body fender to accommodate lowering it over them, but I was wondering if they'll fit ok on stock suspension? I also am thinking about a 4"/6" drop to have the fenders look like they're on top of the tires. Is that too far of a drop? Last query I have is when I drive my truck for a while and it warms up, when I turn it off, it's hard to start it again for a while. Any easy fix? |

On the hard hot start, cranks easy and just won't fire or barely turns over when hot?

Re: Wheels, Tires and Engine Issues
Check the ignition coil. I had a similar issue with my truck and that took care of it. It's a real easy fix.

Does anyone have pictures of their truck with wheels+tires like this?

Re: Wheels, Tires and Engine Issues
Bump? Or should I just take it to a shop and then hope for the best on the wheels and tires?

Re: Wheels, Tires and Engine Issues
The 20x12's are actually 13" wide, edge to edge. They have a 2" offset. If you use them on the rear, I believe they're going to rub like mad. On the front, it would be even worse, give that the front track is wider than the rear.
Test fit them without a tire, so they can be returned if need be. Just my .02... |

Now my biggest issue is that the wheel studs aren't long enough and a couple on the wheel we tried it on were a pain to get on and off. So now I need new, longer lug studs, spacers, or to find lug nuts that apparently are more tapered to grab thread deeper in the lug holes on the wheels (what the guys at the tire shop said). I may just save up and get new brakes done at the same time because I wanted to convert the drums to discs anyways. |
