For lks dcvn:

Approx 4” lip out back, 3.25” up front, with the difference being 3/4”-ish of dish after the step

Would be cool to cruise this on HRPT, though...

Do I need to find another photographer? ;)

Nah, I think we stick with plan A. Just found out I’ll have a 6-week training course between now/then that will steal away precious garage time...

Still plan on pounding on some rivets this week, though :D

Hey Chris, looking good...Wish I had found rear axle mounts when I did mine, would have saved a bunch of time. About 5 yrs ago another 2wd conversion moved the front crossmember forward 1"....making 105" wheelbase, it did look better IMO centering the front wheels in the opening..to late on mine I had already mounted it....something to consider......Ed.

Yeah, the DEG parts sure make life easier, at least in theory. Definitely pondering the stretch.

Minor progress: rebuilt the trailing arms and got some color on the parts :chevy:

Parts look good painted up. I know you are putting bags, but what are you using to control them?

Bags rear only for now, on schraders. If I decide later to go all the way, it’s accuair or nothing

You could probably do it kinda like I did mine, but with way longer coilovers

The holy grail conversion. This will never be that, but I’ll try to do it some level of justice. I do have a couple of cool ideas, none of them involving turbos (at least not on this one).

Been out of town the last 2 months with a training class. Catching up at work/home, then back to the fun stuff. Might see some minor progress before HRPT, dunno...

Mr. Crazy White Dood, you're too kind. My junk is nothing special. Just an overpowered clunker. lol. I think I'm gonna maybe start to straiten the body and make it nice.

On a side note, nice find on that Blazer. Looks pretty mint. I'd hate to know what you had to give for it....Especially after cruising CL and looking what guys want for total jalopy basket case Blazers. Insanity.

Speaking of HRPT, Jeff are you and your Blazer going to make any stops this year?

Looks nicer in pictures than it is (don’t they always?). Only reason I bought it is because it was priced right, well, that and I have a serious truck addiction...

Hey Chris - did you mention what size tires you got? Considering the same setup on my 72 2wd down the road.

They are 245/40 and 275/40. A 295 would be better on the 10” wheel.

So what's going on this one now? I saw that you sold the wheels that were destined for it.

I have let my imagination run away thinking that the trucks wheels will go on the Blazer, because you have some much better wheels on the way for the truck! Am I right?:smoke:

Well, kinda but not really. Yes, the truck will be getting better wheels, but not immediately. This build has been indefinitely back-burnered to focus on getting the truck going. I, too have been staring at a pile of parts for a year—time to remedy that...

Those grilles look so much better with a little black paint on them.
And keeping the "correct" black steel headlight bezels is perfect.
(I hate the 71-72 headlight bezels in these grilles)
